Let's not forget, later in their characters bale continued to be able to act in dark characters while Leo has been playing either a smiling or a struggling/underdog character. Him playing a bad guy was only possible in a Tarantino world and even then he had to change his acting several times to finally accepting the evilness of a slave master plantation owner. One of the only bad things about this movie is they omitted one of the funniest Dorsia moments from the book. Bateman finds out an ex-girlfriend he's totally convinced still wants to have sex with him is dating the head chef and co-owner of Dorsia and he has an existential breakdown.

Dorsia must have been lit. Like the more times I see this movie, the less I care about what's actually going on and the more I want to see what Dorsia is like. Paul Allen had the whole room shook up when they found out that he scored a reservation on Friday. Just name dropping the place will get a bitch up out of bed.

So he got shot down for Dorsia, took her to another restaurant and lied about it, then lied again during the business card scene about going there? I'm assuming that's why he got so bent out of shape over Allen's reservation, because he himself couldn't get one? Makes a lot more sense now.

Dorsia is the “Holy Grail”, it’s what we’re all reaching for despite our financial situation, rich or poor, we’re all reaching for something ‘more’ that just always seems to be out of our reach….In my opinion, I think the point of dorsia is to say, we already have what we need! We don’t need something that will only give us ‘status’ to outside circles, enjoy our inner circles of friends and family! On your death bed, you won’t think of the wealth you’ve accumulated, instead you’ll think of those you love!

I think there are a lot more problems than human pleonexia to worry about. We have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.
