I have the original model (Toy - box and all) from 1977 about 3ft long. I recently took it from my parents house and I plan on repainting it this winter. Thanks for providing the info for the decals as I will have to replace them and didn't know what to do about them.

I think there is some type of whitening method used to restore the toy. There are replacement markings and other parts for it.

Absolutely fantastic job on this Boyd! I think it's ingenious how you did the domes on the figure's helmets! You're right, that back section with all that tubing was really tricky. I had to really take my time with that part. I agree that the possibilities for the weathering are unlimited. I made mine pretty weathered and it turned out really nice. Maybe I'll do a video on it. It is an excellent kit and I've been tempted to do another one as well. Great job on this! But you are the Model Master so I'm not surprised!

@kevinnelson662 жыл бұрын
I have the Mattel Eagle 1 which I did a custom repaint on a few years ago. I also repainted the figures which came with it to make them a little more TV accurate. I believe the Mattel Eagle is almost three feet in length. It was certainly the Legacy Millennium Falcon and GI Joe USS Flagg of its day. Big seller in 1976.

nice one dude. I was lucky enough to see one of the original studio models here in uk. It was really big. This model is very good. I keep thinking of what a "new "version of it might look like. Amazing build! I'm finally getting started on mine... one thing I noticed about this kit was the Apollo lunar modules that are in the fore and aft details. Once I saw them, it was impossible for me to un-see them. I wish (they) wouldn't do that. Anyway, I'll find a way to alter the appearance of those areas. Other than that, It's a very cool model overall. 😎

Before X-wing fighters and Tie fighters this was it for famous Sci-fi spacecraft. Very realistic for the time. Now they fly around in space like WWII dogfighters. Ever notice that even with modern space tech and laser blasters that they still miss a lot? Even today we can shoot more accurate than that. 😁

My problem is storage for fuel? Look at SpaceX Starship, the engines look almost the same but reality dictates that you really need some form of fuel storage. It would be cool to add what Starship is with fantasy space1999 Eagle. Or another idea would be to turn the Eagle into a drone!
