I had no idea that HPC was still in business. As they used to be? Every one who went to church ended up there after church. It was a wonderful way to meet people and see people you already knew. The last I heard was that the Highland Park "mall" was going to be razed!

There's a place in Nashville called "Swett's" that's just like this. It's a family ran business but they have all kinds of people working there too. You'll see signed pics. of the celebrities who have eaten there over the years as you're waiting in the line. The food is awesome soul food!!!

Updated: 6:30 PM CDT May 12, 2020 Longtime Dallas mainstay Highland Park Cafeteria is closings its doors for good, the restaurant announced this week. The restaurant, which opened in 1925, had been closed since March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Memorabilia, furniture, equipment and non-perishable food supplies will be sold on an online auction that begins Friday at ATXauctions.com. Perishable and frozen food is being donated to local organizations, the restaurant said.
