I've never been to Texas in my life, but I love this series. The reporter is excellent with a great voice. I grew up in a very small town in Pennsylvania and I love stories of life in small town America with hardworking God fearing Americans. God bless Texas and America.

Sadly, Highland Park Cafeteria closed during the Covid shutdowns. It was a really good cafeteria! Clean and fresh. Seeing this video of Mr. B makes me miss it more!

I had no idea that HPC was still in business. As they used to be? Every one who went to church ended up there after church. It was a wonderful way to meet people and see people you already knew. The last I heard was that the Highland Park "mall" was going to be razed!

There's a place in Nashville called "Swett's" that's just like this. It's a family ran business but they have all kinds of people working there too. You'll see signed pics. of the celebrities who have eaten there over the years as you're waiting in the line. The food is awesome soul food!!!

The restaurant, which opened in 1925, had been closed since March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Memorabilia, furniture, equipment and non-perishable food supplies will be sold on an online auction that begins Friday at ATXauctions.com. Perishable and frozen food is being donated to local organizations, the restaurant said.
