Well, he did kill people who didn't deserve it. And was involved in the murder of even more innocent people because of his "profession". But he is likeable enough so that people can relate to him. That's what makes for an excellent tv-show.

I mean in literally the second episode of the series he kills a guy who did nothing to Ray his only crime was being in debt and there is no evidence provided he wasn't intending to pay they just assumed he killed his creditor because he was the largest debt holder.

another tarantino reference... there are many in this show. "will you roll me on of those, cowboy?" when zoe asks him for a ciggie. "we happy, ray?" when they are looking into the briefcase full of money. and this one, almost shot for shot, uma thurman in kill bill returning from her dusty grave and waltzing into a shop
