Finally got out with my mate in his EP3, after 10 months away from Oulton Park.
He's added some tasty bits over lockdown so made it an interesting match up.

That extra small displacement of k20 makes a big difference. I wonder how the 2 engines match up with same displacement!

Hiya mate, missed out the description front and rear whiteline ARBs. Front full stiff, rear middle setting. Hope this helps.

Doesn't ep3 need driver mod? I feel that he could have been more aggresive in some places. In other things, your driving feels so smooth and the cars seems also fine tuned. Congratz.

Indeed. Power to weight isn't to dissimilar either. MR2 205hp p/ton & Civic 212hp p/ton. The K20's extra torque really helps it pull away.

Great! Very flexible. On road they don't break your back, but can handle full slicks on track. All you need really.

Nice driving bro, your car seems really well setup and stable in corners...may I know what suspension are you using on your mrs ? Also since Mrs is prone to snap oversteer, maybe a bit of rear wing will help your cornering speed Hope to see more of your driving and sharing information on mrs since I also own one. Thanks

3rd gen mr2's didn't have as much of a problem with snap oversteer. They had better suspension setups and staggered wide rear tires

MRS isn't prone to snap oversteer, that was the SW20. MRS understeers from factory

@@ottosgarage7986 torsen diff fitted from the MR2 box, 6th or FD no. Wasn't me who done the original swap, but I'll be fitting them come rebuild time as its a cunt at motorway speeds, as it sits at over 4000rpm at 70mph ☹

Its taken A LOT of abuse over the last 3 years so yes I'd say reliable. I do heel and toe rev match which will help. I use MT90 fluid.

Am I right in thinking the seat is a Sparco Evo? Want to put buckets in my MR2 and wondering which ones will fit.

Its an OMP ARS bolted to a Rogue Motorsport subframe. Most side mounted seats will fit a mk3, as long as they're not XL width.

@@dwaineskully6515 no way a K20 with a better driver might tho 😂 don't forget the K20 might be a slightly better engine but the mr2 is a better car than the ep3. Mid engine rear wheel drive lower centre of gravity vs fwd with Torsen lsd. 2zz Mr2 is a much more driver focused package in my opinion. I've sold the ep3 a couple of years ago, it's old tech now.

@@ringbummers maybe in your neck of the woods you have more options and affordablity in choice of fun real reliable cars.... But in Jamaica 🇯🇲 it's mainly fwd Toyotas and Hondas are the popular, 2zz is common too however an mr2 is rear... And that's were u have the advantage with a more driver orientated design car... Reminded me of Intial D AE86 wasn't the fastest car but it's design made it perfect for drifting.... Ep3 is better at drags and sprints.... However whats a fun affordable recommendation u would make given ep3 technology is out dated?
