Exactly how we make our thumbnails. But I actually size things down to be one single frame. Then I can copy the entire track stack for that frame and try changes. Rinse and repeat and then you have a bunch of variants to compare. You can then just left/right arrow to quickly flip between your variants and see what you like the most.

Yes this thumbnail was made in Resolve! Oh and, all the KZbin Documentation states Thumbnails should be 1,280 x 720 (720p) resolution. That's what I've always used and they've always looked great! support.google.com/youtube/answer/72431?hl=en-GB#zippy=%2Cimage-size-and-resolution Others have stated you can get away with 1080p if you really want it! If you do, simply set the timeline res as 1080p instead 🙂👍

Excellent, learnt a lot there. Altho you don't need to go through the whole freeze frame thing, when I've got the frame I want to use I just Ctrl B and put a cut there. Then line everything else up with that. And make sure your play head is on the cut when you grab a still.

Great video! I always use the website canva cause it's quick, free and easy to use. But I will give this method a chance! Btw, any chance you gonna make a subtitle guide? I'm having trouble creating them especially if I want to sub multiple characters and they are all supposed to have their own text color. e.g. one character has blue text, another one orange etc. I know you can do all of this stuff in aegis subs but this requires re-rendering and I would love to do it within davinci.

It never crossed my mind to do KZbin Thumbs in Resolve. My rudimentary way was exporting a still and then creating a Thumb in Microsoft Publisher. Life would be a lot simpler in Resolve 😀 Some excellent transferable skills from editing in the colour page. Out of curiosity do you have a technique to get rid of black edges from a clip which you may not have noticed, for example rotating the clip to straighten up the horizon? Or even resizing or importing something that is not the same resolution but creates unintentional little black bars that you don't notice until you spent ages rendering?

Its miles ahead from it. and so are your tutorial videos, no nonsense and highly recommended. One question i need to ask though ,its been quite sometime that i am using resolve and now wish to buy studio version, i am planning to buy speed editor over editor's keyboard! is that a good decision since either way i will be getting the studio version free.
