While out urban exploring I once spoke to a security guard who was working at an old abandoned Seminary where students once learned to be priests. The security guard was not religious nor did he believe in the paranormal. However, while working this job he would often notice dark shadows walking past the cameras on his CCTV monitors and when he went inside to investigate, he always found nothing. He also claimed to hear disembodied voices in the building as well as hymns being sang in the old chapel. I reminded him of what he had previously said about there being no such things as ghosts, etc but he was adamant about the things he saw and heard and it scared him so much that he refused to enter the building by himself, especially at night. Other security guards working at this site also backed up what he said because of their own experiences while working there.

Most places I have been ( which isn't that many tbh) seem to have a memory. If you pay attention, it's like big or traumatic events leave an impression on a place and then when you go to or near by that place you can pick up on it. Sometimes you can see things, hear things ( most common in my opinion), and sometimes even smell things that have happened there before. I usually find it interesting unless it interferes with the reason why I'm there. It's like the place wants you to know it's story.

Nothing paranormal happened, but the mist that comes off the water at 2 or 3 in the morning, along with the shadows and weird sounds is enough to set anyone on edge. Additionally, we have to search many buildings in the middle of night in the performance of our duties, and the creepiest buildings were always big industrial facilities with many large open areas with machinery and then a large office area. People would be surprised at just how many shadows a single flashlight can throw around.

I have been a police officer for over three decades and in that time have experienced some weird things. Crackheads, gang bangers, command staff, stuff like that. Anyway, on Thanksgiving Day, 2005, my partner and I responded to a possible burglary in progress at a local library, which was closed for the holiday. There were motion detectors within the building and something had been detected in the basement. Upon arrival we made entry into the building and crept down into the basement, which was a large, well lit area. All the doors were closed and locked. We then sliced the pie into a hallway which leads off the main basement area into the mechanical room. As we eased around corner at the end of the hall there was a person in black pants and black hoodie with his/her/its back turn to us. He appeared to be reading a bulletin board with with safety brochures attached. Reading safety brochures? Who does that? He's too far away to give commands to so we need to get closer. We start creeping down the hall on this person who just keeps reading the brochures. I feel like I'm in the scene in Ghostbusters where they sneak up on the librarian ghost. Just as we're about to issue the normal commands he spins around and is wearing a black ski mask. He then runs into (please don't run into the mechanical room) the mechanical room and into (please don't run into the tunnel system) tunnel system underneath this complex. We have no radio contact underground and this guy can run like a antelope. Luckily, my partner could run like a cheetah and was on him like a spider monkey. After a brief struggle we took him into custody and secured him in my patrol car. My vehicle was equipped with a video recording camera which was aimed at the backseat to record the prisoner, for his safety and mine. Upon arrival at the jail, I got out and secured all my gear in the trunk, took our little goblin into book-in and was done with him. When I got back in my car I always check the recording to see if the prisoner did something stupid. In the video he is sitting there and you can see me open the trunk. He then leans over towards the camera with an insane chuckle and says, "the swordsman is coming." Then leans back and looks normal again. Overall it was a strange occurrence. Four years later at a diner we had a guy approach our table and say "the swordsman is coming" and then walk away. Four days later one of our officers almost had to shoot a sword-wielding nutbar. Ah, the joys of law enforcement.

I would be very intrigued, seems like the spirit was trying to get attention, not terrify the living. Its very sad to me. Has anyone tried to communicate with and help this lost soul? I doubt its demonic and the coughing? how terrible the way he died, "still reliving" it. '

Of course it was a ghost. What else could it possibly be? Nothing else makes sense, nothing else checks all of the boxes. At some point, you have to quit trying to pound square pegs into round holes and accept that in a very few cases, something outside of our usual understanding is happening.

As a Native American these stories are not so far fetched, within my culture we acknowledge spirits both good and bad. Many spirits who died tragically or under the influence of drugs and alcohol are simply confused. Lost souls if your Christian, not really evil or bad per say but just confused and inbetween worlds. There are things you can do to chase them off or send them to the spirit world. In my culture I’ve been taught spitting can warn off spirits, willows as well; but there is a protocol and ceremony of “cleansing” or “cleaning” a house or area from these spirits. In most cases it’s not only helpful for the living but the spirit because it can send them on their way and end their confusion. The western world cannot explain these things so they ether list these stories as fabrications or try their best to justify them with some sort of explanation. I’m not here to change any one’s beliefs or argue with science. My people really acknowledge science as well and there are deep scientific connections and explanations within my native language. In any case I appreciate a good ghost story and one of these days I’d like to see a Native American ghost story channel. If Mr Ballen is interested I’d encourage you to visit your nearest reservation and ask around for some of these stories, native people are very marginalized and rarely are our perspectives listen too. We also serve at the highest rate per capita in the US armed forces so you may relate to folks on the reservation who are veterans. Thank you for the stories and your own story on the unexplained spirit entity you encountered. I enjoy your format and Chanel love peace and fry bread grease Semper Fi and thanks for your service sincerely a Blackfoot veteran and listener

I am a believer of science but I think there are many things science has yet to explain. I remember hearing a story about a family living in a house that was haunted. These spirits weren't really scary, more like pranksters. They would open and shut things, move/hide objects, that kind of thing. But at times their activity would grow so frequent that it became difficult to live with. So the woman of the house would yell loudly, "This is our house now!" and ask them to stop, and that would usually settle them down for a while. In the European understanding of ghosts, the idea of a spirit who had a bad experience, usually a terrible or violent death of some kind, becoming stuck in our world and unable to move on into the next world is also common. It's interesting that these two different traditions came to similar conclusions independently.

I knew a guy who was an Aberdeen, MD police officer for one day. He didn’t quit because of demons or ghosts, but because he and his trainer found a very decomposed corpse behind a gas station in the heat of July. You can imagine how bad it smelled and looked, and that was it for him. No idea what he’s doing nowadays, but hopefully he’s doing well.

I was a property manager for several apartments and homes when I got a call from a tenant that several days ago, they heard a thump, and now there is a bad smell. It was July, no air conditioning. Poor man had a heart attack. It is one smell you never, ever forget. Hats off to people who clean that type of thing up.
@EatTheMarxists9 ай бұрын
@@michellehaberman5918 gosh, that’s always heartbreaking. To die without any loved ones to wonder where you are and why they’ve not heard from you? That’s really sad. I remember a story about a woman who was found dead in her condo TWO YEARS AFTER SHE DIED. She had money in the bank and all of her bills were on autopay. It wasn’t until her bank account ran out and she became ‘delinquent’ on her utilities that people started asking questions. Even more heartbreaking was that she was on her couch, a couch that was near her Christmas tree that had a few still-wrapped presents. They were clearly meant for someone, so how was she dead for two years without anyone knowing it?! That poor woman truly had no one in her life that cared for her. I hope that the afterlife is treating her with far more love and kindness than the real world did.

Don't crack windows or open doors for black eyed kids..
@Joker_Kaneki3 жыл бұрын
@@luciq1007 the window was down and that night in particular was just very off. Things started going awry around 12:15 am that night. My patrol area is on the north west side of the property. I have to patrol a minimum twice a night 20 communities, with 9 pool checks 1200 homes 3 inner gated community checks, 2 apartment complexes and one assisted living retirement center. All along a 4 mile stretch of main road that all these communities branch out from. Well I had started on the south end that night and at the end of one of those I go down to a half finished cul-de-sac pull a u turn and then move out to the next community. At this cul-de-sac I was suddenly surrounded by fog. On my patrol vehicle I have spot lights on my light bar. I turned the one on to the right and the fog was so thick I could see past 3 feet from the car door. But I could see that it was swirling in a big circle right in front of the passenger side open window. I got out and walked to that door to see what it smelled like.. maybe it was smoke and not fog. I couldn't smell anything but I could see the swirls now farther away from into a person, a human silhouette in the fog itself. I felt uneasy and put my hand on my gun, undoing the first safety on my holster as I backed up around the car to the driver side, got in and drove away never taking my eyes off that figure. I turned left out of that community and went into one of the apartment complexes. I have to drive down through the parking lot and the first one is a dead end. This is where I came across the black eyed girl. As I came down the parking lot she was sitting on a parking curb on the left side between suvs directly above her was a light pole that has not worked since that night. But that night it illuminated right where she was sitting. She had a cell phone in her hand but there was no light coming from the phone to illuminate her face. My windows are open all the time during my shift unless it's storming or raining. So I said hello to her. She looked up at me. She wasn't a child she was a young woman, about 20 or so. Attractive, she was pale skin, with black hair wearing all black and as her eyes met mine they were black. I am the distance equivalent to a mid size car trunk to hood there was no white to her eyes. And she moved her mouth as if to say hello but nothing came out. I went all the way to the dead end, asit hooked 90 degrees and I could pull a u turn. At this location I could see between the suvs where she should have been sitting except she wasn't there. Until I came back around, just as the suv stopped blocking my view there she was again still sitting on the parking curb she stared at me unblinking as I drove by and again this sense of I am in danger came over me. So instead of finishing my patrol of that neighborhood I went back to the entrance hung a left and raced 3 miles down to the other side of my patrol zone. I drove 50 mph 3 and a half miles and just before I get to the north side of the property with an armed entry gate guard I see an open construction gate, and I shine my spot light at it and there she was standing next to the gate looking at me as I drove by looking at me like... you know you have to close this. At that point I said f this. I went through for 3 hours I would not get out of my car for anything. One other strange thing happened that night.. it was about a month ago... the day after I first commented I discovered my father had died in a car accident... I now believe that everything that happened that night was an omen of what was to come.

I've worked security in a few buildings and elevators often have minds of their own They come down opening up without anyone inside and moving around on their own Quite a few places have set levels for the elevator to rest on so that is often the reason Like say there's 2 side by side elevator in a 10 story building, one will always rest on the lobby or bottom and the other at 5 or a midway point. And they usually swap positions when one goes up or down. Haven't had any stay open longenough for the thing to have alarm go off or yell about something blocking the door but have seen a few reopen as if someone stuck their foot in it to catch the door

That's interesting! I too (i think) had a strange experience when I'm working night shift. I was alone in my office working as usual, then i heard the office door opened a bit and closed repeatedly. But that only occur when I'm not looking at the door. My co-workers also said the same thing happened to him when he was scheduled for night shift, he even saw a dark/burned figure peeking at him from the glass door. But I'm still sceptical when it comes to ghost stories.

As prior LE, I can confirm we get scared and there are many situations we do not want to get involved. There were two times I was scared to death in my time. One involved having to fire my duty weapon at a suspect trying to kill me, and another was one of those ‘spidey sense’ situations. There’s evil out there folks, both in flesh and demonic. Stay safe.

I used to dance at that theater when I was a kid, and some nights rehearsals would go fairly late. I used to always have a recurring dream about being chased through the theater by a burned person, and thought I was crazy. It wasn't until one of the other dancers and I were in the changing room during a late night performance that he turned to me and asked if I had seen the ghost at that theater. It scared the hell out of me when he described the ghost that had been in my nightmares, but then we started noticing doors opening and closing on their own during the evening performances when we were in the basement. I stopped dancing there pretty soon after.
