@simonfarre49072 жыл бұрын
@@randylahey8207 he did get suspended. As he should. 20 games is probably a bit light, considering history and force. It isn't a clean hit, he commits both charging, late hit and checking to the head, he has a movement upwards etc. It is not just about "keep your head up" - that only applies if your hit is strictly horizontal, but Wilson's hit isn't, he checks the head. So there is a common misunderstanding that players need to keep their head up to be aware and that isn't really what matters in cases like these. What matters here is that he checks with an upward motion; you can't defend against that regardless if you keep your head up.

Should have been the same penalty minutes as fighting. How can anyone say this is not okay, but it's okay to throw off helmets and punch people in the face and fling them down on the ice where they could easily inflict more damage. As much as I despise Tom Wilson, I'm having a hard time seeing any "head hunting" here. It was a vicious open ice hit. You gotta keep your head up when you're on the ice. Not only that, you ESPECIALLY have to keep your head up when Wilson is on the ice....you have got to account for him every second he's out there. And there's no elbow there. Now if you want to see an elbow on a hit like that, go look at the video of Matt Cooke's hit on Marc Savard. Even as a Penguins fan, I was constantly disgusted by Cooke's play.
