The FN SCAR 15P pistol is an absolute blast to shoot. Once you master the shooting technique, it becomes a viable option for a truck gun.
Just take a look at the proportions on the 15p. It's a sight to behold, especially when you attach a suppressor to it. This gun transforms into a photogenic monster.
Now, I didn't go overboard with modifications on the 15p.
I know some of you might be itching to discuss the limitations of the 223/556 round coming out of a 7.5-inch barrel, and I acknowledge there are valid points to be made. But let's not forget that every firearm has its limits.
In my opinion, the 15p performs best within 100 yards or less, given its prioritization of maneuverability in confined spaces like homes or vehicles.
It was born to be a suppressed truck gun, and let me tell you, I absolutely adore it. I fell even more in love with it when I discovered how incredibly flat this rifle shoots in its suppressor setting.
At just 20 yards, I can hit a small plate with ease. It's like I'm sitting in front of an 85-inch flat-screen TV.
This is definitely a niche gun.
By niche, I mean it's perfect for those who have an unwavering love for the SCAR platform and for those who have grown tired of ARs and want something that's not only fun to shoot but also suitable for self-defense.
Sure, it may not be the rifle I'd choose for a war zone, but it certainly makes a strong case for being an excellent choice for urban dwellers.

Everybody either wants their full size tactical ar15 or a CCW handgun, but small portable rifles that you can fit in a backpack are crucial for anyone who wants to have good firepower while maintaining a low profile, ESPECIALLY in urban environments.

An SBR isn't more lethal than a standard 16inch. It's less. You want max lethality out of a 556 you want 18-20.

The Honey Badger is the ultimate car gun. With some subsonic ammo and a Trash Panda on it makes it so usable, then if you need to need some extra distance or power you just go loud with some supersonic stuff.

I'll take a zpap92 with all the fixings over any 556 pistol. If I'm gonna spend that much on a truck gun, I might as well have the stopping power and spend the extra money left over on upgrades. I'm not burned out by the AR platform. I'm burned out from years of service with the rodent round 556. The AR platform has always been boring.

I was always under the impression a truck gun is one you could lose if necessary or not mind too bad being stolen. If that's the case, no. It's NOT the perfect truck gun - which would be the Hi-Point 40. 🤣

After having my car broken into around last Christmas (lovely holiday gift), I'd be too paranoid to leave a +$3.6k SCAR Now as a 'bag gun', like something small and light that can be taken to and from the car daily, might be the way to go

Very much agree. I love guns and literally always have. I have a lot of guns but only three that I regularly use. My Hellcat RDP literally goes with me every time I step out my door. If I’m going outside my small town and going to be more in the country my 556 with LPVO is with me, if I’m going to a bigger city I’ll take my 10.5” 300 BLK with a red dot. As much as I would love to I can’t afford to I have a gun for literally every scenario imaginable. If I did have the money I have would definitely have a lot more but still Would probably I have my “go to guns” The ones that when you shoot it feels like it’s impossible to miss.

Apart from the crappy ballistics, the number one drawback is FN will void your warranty if you suppress it. And on that short of a barrel with 556 if you’re not suppressing it, you’re gonna go deaf in a truck.

The Malkoff E1HT head or similar is likely a good option for a truck gun since it gives a lot of throw for a 1-cell set-up. It gives more capability outside, especially in an urban environment. It seems like the low candela lights tend to wash out due to the street lights, signs, etc. I'm going to be swapping my Elzetta Alpha out for something like that.

You'd want a short barreled, stockless SCAR-17 until you feel the recoil. There's a reason M14s and other battle rifles are usually semi auto.

My brother in law used to build crazy vehicles for movies and Tv. After voicing his concerns over the 2020 peaceful riots he was let go. And now hes customizing vehicles for those with the mindset of the proverbial poo may soon hit the hvac system and want an apocalypse mobile. And he just bought myold tahoe to showcase what he calls the 89 batmobile treatment with kevlar wrapped polycarbonate panels protecting the occupants and critical systems. He also wants to incorporate 2 full auto guns that'll come up from the engine compartment, with a camera and fire controls in the passenger compartment. Ialso suggested giving the guns a little mobility so as to be able to deal with threats from other directions other than just in front of the truck. Im building the fire control computer and the vehicle vitals monitor with fire supression systems inside andnoutside of the passenger area. And i just built these pouches full of tire sealer that conform to the inside of a vehicles tire so in the event of a puncture sealant is automatically applied. As for on board weapons hes voting for a set of full auto 10/22's firing copper clad tungsten .22lr Any suggestions this is gonna be a tech demonstrator

I will never understand the price justification for any SCAR. I once talked to a guy who was an operator in Afghanistan and he hated using the SCAR. There is nothing the SCAR can do that an $1500 AR-15 can't do.

Magpul has a folding stock for AK's that looks really nice, and I think something similar would do the trick for me. (Only an opinion)
