In real life, you'd probably have the fish paste and crackers while the water boiled and then the pasta "cooked." At least I would. With the tea, it didn't look like you used anywhere near 800 ml, which is why it was strong. And I bet the apricot jam would have been great dissolved in the tea, too! Standing by for Part 3 - and now time it's for my own lunch.

Hey Gundog, do you know of any restaurants anywhere on the planet that serves International MRE's as its primary menu? I get that the logistics of that wouldn't be very practical, nor would it be uber healthy, but as an alternative, they could take MRE menus and make home cooked versions of them.

+FelisDestructicus Interesting idea. I do not know of anything like that but like you said if you have the $$$ I suppose you could do it. The downside is 7 out 10 people are such picky eaters they wouldn't even try it. Like squid in ink, absolutely delicious but most people say yuck without ever trying it. The upside is more for me! gundog4314 Yes, I get that a lot of people are fussy in their tastes. With that said, I'm sure there are also a lot of adventurous people who would be willing to try it. Then there those who are curious about what soldiers eat, as evident by the popularity of your channel, and also those who would be willing to go for the novelty. I suppose it would also help to take a spin on MRE menus, and try to create pseudo-gourmet versions of them. Just think of it as Chicken A La King as imagined by Gordon Ramsay. XD

You mentioned earlier that you felt the weight of the ration did not exceed that of an USGI MRE. Given that the US MRE is a single meal; that's quite the feat. Did you manage to weigh the contents? Because if that is the case, freeze drying sounds like it would save far more mass than anything I've ever expected.

You forget the tuna fish ?! The Rio Mare Tuna which is high quality (expensive tuna brand in U.E) and i wanted to mention do not put all water in those energy drinks or all that ration packs. If it says 500 ml in that energy drinks, is smarter to put 350-400 ml, to have a intense taste.. I saw now that you rationed water in video for the yoghurt dessert and that's what i tried to tell to all MRE (drinks, food, etc.) Nice Videos all of them

+C Byte Yes and No. They people ho made this mre do care about taste, flavore, texture and more.. military aloso have issue with taste, flavore, and quallyti taste and nutrition. Is very complex. Happy military succes in combat.
