Regardless of his methods of aftermarket parts. I love this guy's guts! Dude just goes for it. He re-sparked my interest in repair once again. That is the Key here. Generating interest!!! BTW the voice coil should be way more in the gap, at least level with where the pole piece meets the backplate of the basket assembly.

Достойная работа! Приятно посмотреть! Одно замечание - отверстия в припое лучше делать не металлическим предметом, а деревянным. Не прилипает припой, и не повреждаются дорожки. Хорошо подходит зубочистка.

The old spider/suspension is better than what you used to replace it, should've used that, because it's a long throw for more flex.

Excelente trabalho, porém me incomodou um pouco dele não ter trocado a saída RCA esquerda que estrava amassada e de não ter substituído o outro potenciômetro. O antigo dono deve ter abandonado ao ar livre depois de queimado e ficou muito tempo exposto à chuva.

Отлично, но динамик был длинноход а стал короткоход, слабая центрирующая шайба и мне показалось коротковаты поводки. делаем ставки что вырвет первым, шайбу или поводок. а так зачет!!!

anyone know anything about this sub? I didnt think bose made any direct radiating subs that werent pro-audio... that have the CCC cert and chinese on the plate amp.

Yep, as a collector of vintage Hi-Fi for the last 35 years I can tell you that Bose never made such a subwoofer this is simply a knockoff. It's an off-brand sub where someone took a Bose dust cap and a fix it to the woofer. There is not one single part on the subwoofer that came from Bose. Bose has never constructed power subwoofers with plate amplifiers on them nor did they ever make a subwoofer with a direct radiating sub as you mentioned. This is the same guy that has postings of him repairing B&W hi end subwoofers and all of the subs that he uses are knock-offs.

@@vegaslimoguy2376 that's why I went through the comments here. I've had few lifestyle systems and a cinamate 2.1 added for a 7.2 system and it was pretty good for what it was. But I'd never seen a 10inch bose subwoofer. They looked great though and the size of the toroidal is huge. I wonder who originally made this subwoofer?

Those are generic parts, and there's nothing wrong with generic parts, but they're very easy to find

Restoration doesn't mean same sound as new. A single drop of glue into the speaker cone modifies all the subwoofer parameters, so the new cabinet maybe Is not the correct one. With the restauration of the cone you have created a new one, for good or bad but different.

Aligned basket geometry not checked. The new centering washer does not give the desired amplitude. The coil is exposed in the magnetic gap without measurements. Broken RCA jacks have not been replaced. Reverse installation was carried out even without checking the functionality of the blocks? ... Well made corpus, but why not putty joints?

Работа конечно достойная, на буфере места живого не было, только что магнит не разбили... Но если на кривую корзину приклеить непонятный нонейм подвес из другой резины и с другим весом и наляпать колпак BOSE, то это не будет BOSE. Это будет совершенно другой динамик с другими параметрами Тиля Смолла, которому нужна своя коробка. Т.ч. выглядит красиво и эффектно, но на деле просто контент. Автору лайк конечно.

The result looks and sounds great! Well I'm no expert, but no test runs of the circuit boards before putting these in place? No replacement of the transistors and electrolytic capacitors? The way this looks they all shoud be gone bad by now. I'm also a little reluctant accepting the measurement of elements inside the circuit board with no schematics. You need to check what's parallel amd more often than not you need to de-solder elements (resistors, caps, transistors etc,...) to get the actual values. But as I said, I'm no expert.

@@truefilm6991 I found this amplifier on Ali express for $65 US it's a just a cheap Chinese amp that's supposed to be 300 rms but for that price I doubt it. So it's not even worth time it takes to recap it if they haven't failed. That's not even a Bose enclosure or subwoofer. So it's not really a restoration of anything valuable. With high lumber prices the MDF is probably the most expensive part of the project

@@chichidouglas5078 Yeah I know they are restoring cheap garbage. As I said: I'm not an expert, but looking at the design, I can tell that this amp is trash. Good powerful separate amps have large separate heat sinks (the real powerful ones with cooling fans) with the power transistors neatly placed at the center with plenty of white thermal paste, far away from each other, not bent and sandwiched. I guess quality powered speakers have the transistors in a similar fashion, at least able to "breathe". Still: even if it's just about restoring, at least make it kinda legit regarding the electronics.

электронщик он конечно видный)))) прозванивает перемычки, а каким то чертом меняет неубиваемые детали, а как он прозванивал комплементарные пары, это ж прекрасно.)) короб я даже обсуждать не берусь, все же рассчитано под конкретную головку было, параметры Тиля Смолла и пр…..

Руки у него из жопы - мембрану на глаз калибровал, монтаж проверял без нужной последовательност и фиг пойми зачем, инструменты и приборы соответствующие. Собрано все на коленке.

They don't. I'm assuming it's for fun, because unless they're measuring the T/S parameters off camera, there's no way of knowing what the enclosure/port/driver will do. It's basically just a boombox with a high-tuned port at this stage. If they reuse the DSP from the Bose amp, it's also gonna do loads of stuff to the response we have no clue how will affect the new driver.

Diễn quá! Cũng may là bỏ cảnh lượn ra bờ sông bắt được cái loa :). Cả cái bo công suất đo mỗi 4 con sò rồi chả hiểu sao thay 4 con trở sứ (trở đó chết mà sò lại sống được). Thay xong chả buồn kiểm tra (xem bo chạy được chưa, còn hỏng gì nữa ko) rồi cứ thế lắp vào ....
