Do you code Lane Assist and ACC remotely? I bought the kit from China, but the original front radar used, the same code as the Passat, as for the Lane assist, I bought the entire kit from China. However, the company that has the greatest expertise here in the region only wants to do the coding if I had purchased the parts from them. My budget is tight, they charge 1/4 of the value of the car. My car is a golf Variant mk7 mexican, I live in Brazil. Do you know where I can find coding instructions?

You would need to replace the windscreen for proper retrofit. There's also couple plastic things like mounting bracket, cover, different rear view mirror. On top of that: wiring, parameterization, calibration of the camera. A lot of work and cash.

Hi! I ve arleady installed lane asyst in my Passat b8 2018" using VCDS. The only thing I didnt do- I didnt mark in Module A5 Long coding-> byte 00 ( 16 byte in vcds)-> bit 0- here it is called "LaneAsyst_AGW_output", but i marked only bit 7- called HC 0=not coded/1=coded)". The lane asyst works very well, in radio I can mark: lane asyst, adaptptive lane guidance, and "warning power" "weak, medium, strong. It shows lane asyst on the clocs. The question is: do you know what Byte 16 , bit 0 (LaneAsyst_AGW_output) is responsible for in A5 module? The only thing I dont have is steering wheel wibration and I dont have this option also in radio screen. Do u know how to turn it on?

Hello, first of all I would like to thank you and wish you all the best, your channel is really helpful with lots of educational content. I have a question for you. Are you okay with the way how DSG transmission is shifting gears in Drive mode? Because I have this transmission and I feel like the transmission is shifting too early which causes the result of cruising in the city 55km/h tacho and transmission shifts into 5th gear with around 1200 rmp when I can feel vibrations in steering wheel as they were in my old passat b5 tdi. I am really thinking about get the remap of DSG shifting points because of that and I think it is not really healthy for dual-mass flywheel.

Shift points is the single thing that I don't like about my DSG. Too low in Drive, Too high and too aggressive in Sport.It works best for me when DPF is regenerating and ECU requests higher shift points while keeping the comfort shift speeds.

Thats possible. There are data sets that let you drive 60 secs without hands on and one for unlimited. I actually got the 60 secs Dataset on my A5. Minimium Speed differs from dataset, too and ACC, and and and ... :)

Did you have to calibrate the camera after installing it before using? Or have you already had Lane assistent originally installed in your car ? Because I have already seen somewhere that during retrofit Lane assistent you still need to calibrate the camera for the system to work properly, the same as after changing the windshield

What partnr camera? 2Q0, 3Q0, 5Q0 have different codings. So maybe handy to mention that its for 3Q0 camera etc?

its a 5Q camera here, you can see it when he shows his windscreen. But you are right, codings are different between the models. Its crucial that hes not mentioning which camera he is coding.

Mk7 cars sense your hands on the wheel by way of pressure pulling down on the wheel, Mk7.5 cars do this via touch sensors in the wheel itself. Some people put a bottle of water into the spokes of the steering wheel and this fools the car into believing your hands are pulling the wheel down on Mk7 cars!

My car was originally equipped with the camera. But since the same camera is used for Traffic Sign Recognition, Dynamic Light Assist, and Lane Assist you might have the camera and don't have the Lane Assist option activated from the factory. The same deal with the front facing radar. It's used both for Active Cruise Control and Front Assist (automatic braking). You can configure the car from the factory to have Front Assist and regular cruise control. And you are just 2 steps away from ACC - needs buttons and coding, AFAIK (might also need FEC/SWaP code in gateway for ACC but not sure if that's correct if vehicle is already equipped with regular CC).

Camera fault, dirty windscreen, missing calibration... Best to perform full scan of the vehicle.

Passat B8.5 will have newer camera, that's for sure. So most likely this option in the camera is at different byte/bit address.

When you hit the button on the indicator stalk, you go to the driver assistance menu in the instrument cluster. There I see the option front assist. But in some videos of other users I also see acc/lane assist for example. Is there a way to activate this on my car or is this dependent from the modules in the car? Obviously the car has to have the specific option.

Its done via flashing Datasets on the A5 Module. This only works with VCP or ODIS-E.

Hi. My car already has the the lane assist setup but lately I have noticed that car is late to adjust the steering wheel to centre the car in lane. Also on the dashboard, the 2 lane assist line is not as bright as it was before. It only becomes brighter when the car touches the white line on the road. Anything I can do to make it stay in the middle of the lane please. Thank you.

First of all, a Lane Assist need a Parameterization Data to work absolut correctly!! And than Coding! Without Parameterization you have one warning Step. With Parameterization you have multiple warning Steps and a emergency Brake!

@@mrfixpl Take VCP tool, flash the correct Dataset for your Camera, code Lane Assist (as shown) and you will see! One warning Step is not correct for Lane Assist. Correct Lane Assist have three warning Steps and final a emergency Brake.
