I was ten years old when The Beatles first album came out. When I Saw Her Standing There was the lead song, still a great song seventy years later and they were just kids when they made it!

There are a lot of untapped veins for solo acoustic performers to mine in early rock and roll and early Beatles. Yesterday was the late Eddie Cochran's birthday. "Summertime Blues" and "Twenty Flight Rock" are crowd pleasers as are Buddy Holly songs. The rhythm guitar parts of the songs off "A Hard Day's Night," "Beatles for Sale," and "Help," aren't hard and are taylor made for the solo acoustic performer. Although sometimes one will get complimented for playing Rosanne Cash from those who are unaware that "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" is a Beatles' song. Good content. Keep up the good work.

Two great songs Frank. Can I suggest that A hard days night is also a beauty to add. That interesting chord that it starts with and the arpeggiated chord at the very end hook the audience, and of course the energy of the beat of the song keeps people engaged.

That is an excellent pick thanks for sharing. I did this video awhile ago on 3 ez Beatles songs and I covered hard days night… check it out. Perhaps I will do a more deep dive video on that. 3 Easy Beatles songs to play guitar and sing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHTElaawYqaDrMk

Great video Frank thanks. Still waiting for "Say it ain't so , Joe". I seem to have become obsessed with the song for what ever reason it just seems to speak directly to me. Do you have songs that do the same for you, could be worth a separate video!

I often do a trio of Beatles songs. I know - sometimes more than one in a row from a particular artist can be dangerous, but 1) the Beatles are mostly universally popular, and 2) their songs are short, and you can keep them shorter if you avoid some repeats. Coincidentally, I often start with "I Saw Her Standing There" and often "Nowhere Man." I like to sneak in a less well-known one; I'll do something like "I'm Only Sleeping," "Your Mother Should Know," etc. I stole some of your embellishments from this video on "I Saw Her Standing There." :> I also do a lot of palm muting on that one for variation. I'm allergic to Elvis and rarely do Elvis tunes - I appreciate it is to my detriment when performing :< I also keep one guitar in 1/2 step-down tuning. I'm 67, and no one needs to hear me strain!

Thanks so much for the post. I appreciate hearing other gigging players perspectives. Made me laugh cuz when I’m playing live I will never play just one Beatles song. Always at least 2 or 3 back to back… my joke to the audience (though it’s not really funny) is “didn’t you know it’s bad luck to play only one Beatles song?”

@@FrankPersico yes, you see the problem is, I don't have a following, with a following they like anything you'll play,I quit playing weekly at the restaurant, I performed well and made effort to connect with the people, I'm realizing nothing is enough for the people, it's like a majic show, I go in and I'm to fast to show all my tricks( best songs), after the high energy performance is over,...I have nothing left to dazzle them with!!! So, I screwed myself!!!
