I got stuck in a Bog with an M110, REME hooked me up to another Gun & bellied that as well so they hooked us both up on a straight bar to a Cent Wrecker & It pulled us both out with no probs, the power of that Centurion was incredible. Good job Lads 👍👍👍

Watching you work on Abbotts,43's,Chiefs and Cents brings back memories for me. Only advice I can give is to be careful with the K60G engine (Abbott), they had atendency to shear the Scavenge blower drive shaft, which causes the engine to fire once then just turn over (exhaust gases can't get out of the cylinders). If the coolant pump isn't turning (driven off the blower front gear set) then the drive shaft has gone . A hint is a "jumping" rev counter needle as the broken shaft ends drag (rev counter is powered by the tacho gen on the input side of the blower shaft.

Maybe soaking the bolts on the deck with panther P*as applied the day before might prevent the heads snapping off the bolts. Just saying, did wonders with bolts I had to remove on a vehicle that hadn't been touched for 40 years!

Did you give any of those bolts a tickle with the hot torch beforehand? A bit of heat usually persuades old bolts to give up their love for fittings. Nice bit of welding on that there socket/adaptor by the way. Proper job.

It was shit sweep tank park Paint tank. I escaped I love anything will it run. people bring me things and I won't give up. I always thought the Minor engine was part of the starting on Cents. Shows how much interest i showed. We cleaned engine bay of Bridge layer with the Diesel fuel hose with fuel pump on like pressure washer while doing a pack change in the field somewhere. I loved that part of it like the stuff you do just not the Tankey part I joined Engineers no Tanks I'll get abuse now 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

We also used small tins of a highly combustible agent we called " releasing oil " it ate through rust, and you couldn't use it in a confined space . You just used a cap full ( like a teaspoon full) on a rusty bolt, and it sometimes helped.

@@1chish I am armed to the teeth with a keyboard yes, you could say pedantic even yes, but certainly not former Navy. Actually former Cavalry, and not a northerner either, actually from the industrial heart lands the Midland's and it's all meant in gest (banter) you see, and understand that most "civvies" don't handle it too well, but don't take what I type to heart or misinterpret it. 👍🏼 Good day.
@1chish
@1chish Жыл бұрын
@@kippamip I may be a civvie now but I have done my time (Crab Air) and enjoy banter as well as anyone. Yours did not come across as that especially as the vast majority of readers will be civvies. Hence my point of using the word 'tank' and pulling you up on calling the owner a 'saddo'. And I didn't call you a Northerner either. I suggested that people are not 'saddos' just because they do NOT have a Northern accent. I was being kind calling you a Jack but I stand corrected. So you're a Pongo ... 🤣🤣 And a very good day to you as well. Have a very safe week.
