Regarding the Rahmah chicken fry, I would agree with your wife. Batter taste is dominant in their chicken fries and chicken flavors are very limited. For that reason, I'm not a big fan of their chicken fry. Same with quail too. Yes, porotta cherupayar combo is very underrated.

What Mrinal liked his wife did not like. This shows that taste differs btw people. Mrinal likes the sea flavour of sea food but his wife doesn't prefer that. So just based on any person's opinion we shouldn't judge a restaurant. Obviously we can talk about bad service, hygiene, quantity of food etc but taste of an item shouldn't be judged based on a food blogger's opinion.
