Wands are personal and wand carriers develop a connection with them, and not many wizards do wandless magic. Voldy kind of left Lucius defenseless. Between taking over Malfoy Manor as if he owned the place and taking his wand, Voldy practically emasculated Lucius. It's all punishment for failure.

@@SirRockXIIIYeah but the films fail to sort of explain it. Many can’t do wandless magic and using the wand I believe concentrated their power and made it generally stronger But that’s more for adults. All juvenile wizards do wandless magic without ever meaning to, I imagine if they’re taught from the start how to use this then they’d be able to do it unlike the other schools

If you duel a wizard and win, the wand is essentially yours. Harry And voldemorts wands share the same core, phoenix feather giver by Dumbledores Phoenix Fawkes, so the wands are like twin brothers.

You made a very real rational reflection where you said that the people who were growing up with the movie had a whole experience with watching the movies. I was definitely one of those kids, I was 11 when the movies were first airing and it became the thing I looked forward to, the next book the next movie. Honestly it formed a generation and the journey that these characters made formed us as people (as weird as that sounds). I think thats why we love reactors who watch the series, we want to show people how awesome it is and how the themes still resonate with events that can still happen. Also it kinda explains our love for the series.

What is in the deleted scenes of this movie and in the Deathly Hallows book is when Ron came back to Harry and Hermione he explained that he found out that Voldemort's name has a magic curse attached to it. Just saying his name out load causes Death Eaters to come to you and as a result you get attacked or killed. That is the reason why wizards call him "He Who Must Not Be Named" because the same thing happened during the first war when people dared to say Voldemort's name out load. Most who had the guts to say it got killed. But when Voldemort was weakened when he tried to kill baby Harry and failed, the spell lost it's power. 🗣💀🪄

A large number of us who saw the movies had read the books some time before the first movie. We were aware of things that were left out that explains so much, answers some of your questions. We understood why Hermione was wiping her parents memories of her; we also knew she was replacing them with other memories of other identities for her parents to keep them safe. Death Eaters was targeting muggle born witches like her and their families were sources of information. Pure - bloods like Ron were required to show up at Hogwarts and plans were made to account for his absence. Harry was not the Death Eaters' only target.

32:05 Long story short, yes, it's magic how they knew. They kind of skipped over the explanation in the movies. But, in the books, I think it was explained that some of Voldemort's followers, who controlled the Ministry of Magic at the time, used magic to place a kind of tracking spell on the word "Voldemort" because only the people on Harry and Dumbledore's side were brave enough to use Voldemort's real name instead of the phrase "he-who-must-not-be-named". So, anytime someone verbalized the word "Voldemort", the snatchers/ death eaters would immediately be summoned to their location.

One thing you gotta remember about Harry, Ron, and Hermione's friendship is that Harry and Hermione were both raised in the non-magical world, and they both didn't know for sure that they had magic until they got their letters inviting them to Hogwarts when they were 10 years old. The Weasley family is like a second family to Harry, but Hermione has always been tagging along with them too so she fits right in by the time things get serious

The reason Dobby could not be easily healed was that the knive was cursed. Wounds caused by curses can only be healed with a corresponding counter curse. For example in the previous move when Harry used Sectumsempra on Malfoy no one but Snape could have healed him easily, since Snape invented the curse as well as the counter, “Vulnera Samento”. Since Harry (or his friends for that matter) knew the countercurse for Dobbys wound, he was essentially doomed.

You met Hermione's parents at the bookshop in Diagon Alley in the second film. Lucius Malfoy even condescendingly mentions that they're muggles. Many legends are based on a kernel of fact. The Three Brothers in the Tale of the Deathly Hallows were the Peverell Brothers. -Back in Godric's Hollow, while Harry stood at the grave of his parents, Hermione brushed snow away from a tombstone that had the sign of the Deathly Hollows on it and the name Ignatus Peverell; that was an ancestor of Harry's. Harry's Grandmother was a firstborn Peverell with no brothers, so she inherited the Cloak of Invisibility. In due course, she handed it down to James Potter and Dumbledore kept it before handing it down to Harry as an anonymous Christmas gift. -Before Dumbledore was a teacher, he fought a wand-duel against his friend Gellert Grindelwald and won Grindelwald's wand, the Elder Wand of Deathly Hallows fame. -The ring Tom Riddle turned into a horcrux was inherited from his mother; it originally belonged to Salazar Slytherin. Tom Riddle was legitimately the actual blood heir of Slytherin. The stone in the ring is the Resurrection Stone of Deathly Hallows Fame. Just keep in mind what Dumbledore said: "No spell can reawaken the dead." Dumbledore had reasons of his own to resurrect loved ones long gone, but never could, so don't believe these items can help preserve or rekindle life. Some consider the real point of this particular film as being that division between Harry the child and Harry the man. Harry is now 17; he's an adult. And in the course of this film, he loses the very last of the things that supported him through his childhood: the Dursley home, Hogwarts, Hedwig, Dobby, even his wand. This is the wilderness he has to cross to come into his own as a man, to become his own person. He even goes back to say goodbye to his home village (and I believe that 'kid's room' he's fighting Nagini the snake in is the room he was rescued from as a baby). You can say this film dragged, but growth and wisdom comes in the quiet moments. In the quiet, you have a chance to reflect and learn.

The good parts are GOOD, but in my opinion I could've done without the 20 minutes spent on Harry and Hermione acting like they COULD hook up when the audience already knew that was never going to happen. It feels like filler in a movie that shouldn't have any. Ron being paranoid? Great. Shows the effect the horcrux's have on people, like the ring in LOTR. But the whole dance sequence and damn-near-kissing scene between Harry and Hermione is just unnecessary and was only put in to drill it through the audience's heads that they wouldn't get together, which is something we already knew. Hence, the filler.

You are correct about the spells, they are based off of Latin words that relate to the spells. Rowling also used Celtic Zodiac (tree astrology) when assigning the types of wood each person uses. It reflects that persons characteristics. She also used numerology when assigning the length of the wand. That number also matches the personality of the character. That is why they go out of the way to say details like "oak wand, 10 and 3/4 in length" every time they describe a wand. The zodiac and numerology is supposed to match that character. I think she also used it when creating names for many characters. She used a lot of different lore/beliefs when creating characters and objects that you normally wouldn't notice unless you look for it.

When you do move on to Lord of the Rings, like most fans I highly recommend you go with the Extended Editions. They are long, but a lot of things seem to come out of nowhere in the theatrical release that are explained in the extended editions. I can already hear the questions you would probably end up asking that get answered just by going with extended. The extra minutes are well worth it when one is as inquisitive as you are

Your wand is a limb. Most wizards can’t/haven’t honed their wandless magic so to be without your wand is essentially to be without your magical control. In wandlore, many wands have qualities about them that make them loyal vs not. “Slightly swishy”, “unyielding”, etc. are all ways of describing how easily or difficult a wand can switch loyalties should it be picked up by another. Draco’s wand has the ability to change allegiance because it sensed a more powerful master in Harry.

As someone said earlier, wands can be used by other people, but they only work fully with the wizard they have chosen "The wand chooses the wizard", as was said in the first movie by Olivander. That is why the blackthorn wand that Ron gave Harry that he'd 'taken off of a snatcher', when Harry tried to make the fire bigger, it made it Super big - it doesn't work as well for another wizard. Also why in the early years, Longbottom had so much trouble - it's not stated in the movie, but in the books, it is explained that Neville was given his father's wand. Eventually he wins the wands cooperation. Also explains why in part two when Draco had to use his mother's wand after having been disarmed by Harry, says to him that 'it's a good wand, but it doesn't quite 'get me' yanno?' because the wand isn't his own, but leant to him by his mother.

Point one: giving Voldermort your wand means you don't have your wand any more, and have NO way to cast spells. You are basically helpless as a muggle until (or if) he ever decides to give it back. Two: Yes, that is a kid's room, but I suspect the smashed through a shared wall of a duplex. Three: As pointed out a few minutes later, that patronus was a doe (no antlers) Four: "But how did Vldermort know?" Yeah.... that is a point the movies fail to mention. In the books it is explained that once Voldermort had control of the ministry, he could have his own name "jinxed" so that an alarm would go off in the ministry if anyone spoke it, including their location. The logic of this is only serious enemies of Voldermort would be brave enough to speak his name. Everyone else calls him "He who must not be named" or "The Dark Lord". Five: why did Beletrix freak out when she saw the sword? As she later whispered to Hermione as she tortured her, "That Sword is SUPPOSED to be lock up in my vault at Gringots". Six: Healing magic is not touched on much in the books or the movies, and when it is it's often potions (Like the essence of dittiny that Hermione uses on Ron when he's "splinched", but Dittiny isn't good on deep penetrating wounds, and bet Belatrix's knife was poisoned too.

So to answer you question about voldermort being able to tell snape inner thoughts, remember in the 5th movie Snape trained Harry in oclamancy (the art of invading other people minds or defending your own) Snape was chosen because he may be one of if not the best in the world at that particular skill, part of the reason Voldermort never distrusts Snape even when he betrayed him the first time is because although Snape is legitimately more skilled than voldermort in that feild , voldermort can't wrap his mind around his underling Bieng more skilled , so he never really worries about Snape always looking so clean when he looks into his mind, it's easier to believe Snape is a perfect obedient servant as opposed to someone who is more talented than him

At the beginning of the video, you asked if Voldemort is Voldemort why has he not figured out why Snape is actually a double agent or should I say, triple agent. It's actually explaining it in the books and I don't want to be this type of person but the books really do have all the answers to all the questions that everybody asks. Now it is a seven-book series so I'm not expecting people to read all of it if they only want to enjoy the movies so I thought I would explain here. Snape is arguably the best Occlumens. Occlumency is the act of magically closing one's mind against legitimacy. It can prevent Legilimens from accessing one's thoughts and feelings or influencing them. A person who practices this art is known as an, Occlumency. Now in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince when Snape is trying to teach Harry how to not let Voldemort enter his mind this is the practice he is trying to teach Harry Occlumens. So this is basically the reason why Voldemort cannot enter Snape's mind is because Snape is the best Occlumens even more than Voldemort is.

I have read the Harry Potter books and seen the movies a million times since childhood. One of the biggest gripes I have with the movies and keep in mind I absolutely love the movies Is the moment when Snape is teaching Harry Occlumency. Like I said in order for Harry to not allow Voldemort into his mind. The moment in the movie when Harry goes into Snape's mind is totally off the plot line. If you really think about it Harry at that stage would never be more powerful to go into Snake's mind. My argument has always been if Voldemort can't even go into Snape's mind why on Earth can Harry? I understand from a movie point they really wanted to explain the pain that Severus went through when he was younger but that is one of my biggest gripes of the movie and I just wish they did it in a different way.

One more thing and this may make me sound like I'm hating on the movies but really believe me I absolutely love them there are just some critiques I have. I feel like when people watch Harry Potter I don't know if it's how the movies explain it or how people's perception of how main protagonists are supposed to be if they are the "Chosen One." I will say it for the people in the back even though he is the chosen one Harry is strong in his Collective field. Just because he is the chosen one doesn't mean he's stronger or instantly stronger than everybody who has been practicing magic for decades longer than him. I absolutely love the books because it really shows the development of his strength and it really shows how hit with reality he is when he realizes that he doesn't get things with the click of his fingers. Harry has to put in a lot of work and effort to maintain the power. That is a big reason why he is one of my favorite protagonists.

In his right mind, Ron knows that Harry and Hermione are like siblings, and he has no need for jealousy, but he's not IN his right mind because he's been wearing the Horcrux. It didn't just amplify his emotions, it changed them.

This movie did feel like it stretched things out a lot, and the end wraps everything up pretty nicely. Harry potter has a lot about the lore of the world. You kinda need that to understand everything that's going on. The books are VERY deep, with many layers and multiple threads being pulled at once. They obviously couldn't do that for the movies, as each would be about 5 hours long. I think they did a great job though. I watched the movies before I read the books, and I got all the concepts.

This was the first half and more of an adminstrative movie. To catch up to the real action. The end, well I knew it would be there when I read the book. They had to divide it up. and yes english towns have huge cemetaries.

They used to dig up old bodies & put the bones in mausoleums or catacombs then bury a recently deceased person in the grave. Then they would replace the tombstone with a new one that had the name of the person just buried. In other words they recycled gravesites.
