@@MrMapleShow I think I'm doing something wrong with my grafts. I did some last month. My rootstock was about to leaf out, I did the same cuts as you, everything cleaned with alcohol, lined up the cambium layers, wrapped with rubber band and cover with graft sealant. After one month my scions turned black, no one has took. I'm so disappointed, I don't understand.

You guys are so amazing. I recently found your trees on the internet and purchased some things. They are beautiful and you got them to me like lightning fast. This is so informative and I think I might have to finally try to do it with a regular few native maples just to get practice first. I love bonsai and I am so interested in getting the hang of grafting. You're so fun to learn from too. 😊

hello, I understand that almost all maples (except for some) are grafted because they themselves do not have the good root base to survive well, by the way, I always speak from the bonsai perspective, those grafts that you are doing I am not saying that this is bad, the only thing I say is that so that they don't notice, too many years have to pass, in fact I have maples grafted like this with me at 10 and 15 years old (I remember that I only talk about maples referring to bonsais, not to gardens) and they still they notice him For this reason, although I am from Spain and I cannot buy, when I want to buy a species that I find here in Europe, the first thing I need is that 1) the graft is as low as possible (so when the bark begins to wood it will cover it 2) that the graft has to be as hidden as possible and from what I see in that way that you do, I sincerely believe that it would not work for bonsai, although I must admit that I don't have any of you to be able to say for sure greetings😉

We started it but never finished and loaded it. Was a little disappointed in how low part 1 and 2 got for views. I’ll make sure we get it out soon

Sorry to nag, but is there any chance you'll do a part 3 of this? If not I have some questions I'd like to ask.

How many an hour do your best grafters get? I learned in Boskoop, these guys do about 120 an hour, easily 1000 a day.

Guys - where do i get root stock? I think I found a broom...
@MrMapleShow Жыл бұрын
Depends on what you are grafting. For maples it either requires large quantities or growing it from seed yourself. For most hobbyists seed is the best option

Is seed available@@MrMapleShow ? Would I also need to harvest the seed myself, or is there seed for sale in the marketplace for such purpose? Thanks a ton for the great content! I bought a pair of concave cutters today now that I know what they're called. Salud!
