Now Matty, I selected you because yours was the one single thumbnail that clearly suggested you were reviewing on console. To be fair Matty, that’s what that thumbnail looks like because there are two entities in that thumbnail Matt. You and an Xbox version of Phantom Liberty and the Xbox game is the biggest thing. Now if you always use and Xbox box in your thumbnails I put it to you that the single most divisive thing about the original launch was console quality vs pc, no console codes for review vs all pc codes. Someone out there MUST surely have reviewed it on console because CDPR would not make that gigantic deception twice. Your thumbnail is kind of careless to the whole situation by seemingly addressing this giant issue head-on. No hate. No thumbs down. Just my thoughts and opinions. A bad call in my opinion.

one feature i would love to see, but i doubt they would even add something like this, but it would be so cool if you could record what you did in the game but from various angels, something that focuses on the combat so that it looks like a movie, so when you are playing you use all the in-game mechanics to your fight, but the game is recording each situation so you can go back and edit the recording to only show scenes you were apart of. this was a feature that i only saw in one game back in the day, it wasn't that great of a game but it involved police chases and all kinds of fun shots using only the game engine and the edting features, but the feature was really cool and i would love to see it come back, a modder for cyberpunk tried to make it possible, but i'm not sure he finished his mod or not. so imagine a shot when you used your hacking in game, but in the recording it was caught in real time and didn't show the hack but you could see the effect to the NPC who your charactor hacked, but you can pick and choose any view you want while in this mode and when the video is fully finished and edited, it could be presented as a movie that could be put into a larger list of videos you make to be placed into one massive movie to show off your gameplay and skills and also capture the really badass gameplay in this game from another prespective outside of just the 1st person view.

I love the game but.... Just in case they fool us again, I would wait a couple weeks after release and see how different systems handle the game. I don't like the fact that all of the early reviewers were not allowed to show in game footage. Maybe they just want to avoid spoilers or maybe they know the DLC has higher requitements than the base game and some folks who bought the base game might have a bumpy time playing the DLC. The game will still be here a few weeks after release. I would at least wait for the full review of the optimization by Digital Foundry.

@@Not-Great-at-Gaming I was on PS4 Pro at the time, and I didn't have too many issues running Cyberpunk at launch, but I would say it was less stable for me than Starfield launch has been on the Series X, but yeah, that's comparing last gen hardware to current gen hardware. Starfield would probably be a mess if they tried to put on PS4 and Xbox One. But then, in Cyberpunk even now I occasionally have problems playing on Series X where I'm driving and suddenly fall through the ground into a void of nothing and have to reload a save. Occasional framerate drops. Worst thing that's happened to me in Starfield is sometimes my follower won't be wearing their spacesuit in the vacuum of space. So some Bethesda jank but nothing that interrupts the gameplay or anything. Well, the constant loading screens do interrupt the gameplay I suppose.

Ever since Luther where Idris Elba plays a detective chief investigator (DCI) John Luther, I've been a huge fan. He's a brilliant and unhinged detective and the stories really get emotional and existential. It makes you question what separates order and chaos and what should be given up for more security. Special Agent is a great role given that context. Can't wait to pick this up but I'm not in a hurry...I have 120+ hours, two characters, one completed playthrough, and each character has a wildly different skill specialization/attribute focus. I still don't consider it that great of an RPG. It's a good game, but in terms of roleplay? It lacked pretty severely in that regard. So it just tells me what you want in an RPG is very different than what I want. For me a good RPG requires the world to be interactive and not feel restrictive on what you can do. If I can't walk up to a random street vendor and order something from them, then it's the furthest thing away from that. Second a good RPG can't be overly linear in it's storytelling, which CP2077 is very linear in that regard. There should also be a lot of environmental storytelling. The idea being when you go into an abandoned building you should be able to piece together a story. CP2077 again lacks this outside of some side quests. (they did a good job with this in regards to the cyber psychos though, you could usually always tell something went down and that there was a story there, but I think that counts as a side quest) Really the only part that makes CP2077 an RPG is the leveling system, which is the absolute bare minimum. And I would argue even that wasn't very good, as a lot of the perks didn't even work. I really hope Phantom Liberty is better, but I don't trust your review. I am holding off till more reviews come out, and even then I will wait at least a month or so before considering getting it.

Phantom Liberty is certainly a great DLC campaign. Although the campaign itself is extremely short. The Mr. Hands combined side quests last longer than the campaign. And they artificially made the campaign seem longer by having several missions that make you wait for (in game) days before you can progress. Also I found Idris Elba's character uninteresting, sorta boring and one-dimensional. It felt like he was phoning it in.

What a night and day difference. A mature, fun, immersive/engaging experience. I’m beyond happy the turn around this game has had. I play Starfield and I feel like I’m playing a game made by middle schoolers, where everything is limited and “played safe.” It’s got immature writing, immature world building and lore, just….immature is the best way to describe it. Lazy and held back. Cyberpunk is the total opposite. I can’t wait for this DLC.

I've hated the two companions I've had so far. Couldn't wait to get them off my ship. It's a very sanitary experience, very Disney. There's nothing adult about it.
@DV-ou1yu
@DV-ou1yu Жыл бұрын
@quademasters249 I never thought about it that way....the adult part. I don't think it's the lack of maturity, but the fact that the game doesn't want to be deep. Like the way companions just all of sudden become your bestfriend because....plot...then just confide in you because they accompanied you to another galaxy. It's very on the nose and lacks any gravity.
@quademasters249
@quademasters249 Жыл бұрын
@@DV-ou1yu "Because they need it for the plot to happen". Haha yeah. This started with Fallout 4. Fallout 3 and Skyrim were both adult experiences with all the nastiness that implies. Fallout 4 was completely toned down. I imagine the next Skyrim will be the same. No highs or lows, just mid's. Not terrible but not great either. They're so afraid of offending, everything is now milquetoast. I agree it lacks any gravity. Even situations that could be fantastic, like finding the generation ship from earth that wanted to settle down, ended up being banal. The stakes weren't that great. I'd have like to see the ship threaten to nuke the planet if they don't comply and we having to work something out between them.

What I’m curious about is the immersion and exploration. Is Night City more immersible now and what about new places to explore? Can we finally sit at a random bar and have a drink served to us or will it be a generic menu opens up and you just select what you want? Or how about all the locked doors we keep seeing on the buildings. It would be nice if more buildings like the Mega Building were more accessible.
@kkammei
@kkammei Жыл бұрын
2.0 won't change any of that. I don't think CDPR really promised it would. It's mainly QOL plus bug fixes and a complete gameplay overhaul. Environment / world interactivity is not changed at all besides police chases and dynamic events like gang shootouts. Whether or not Dogtown in Phantom Liberty is far more interactive I have no idea but here's to hoping.
@robman732
@robman732 Жыл бұрын
Well, since 2.0 just dropped, you are correct. Which is a slight bummer. CP 2077 has a great story and all, but immersion is what caught my attention and I really want my character to do simple things like sit at a bar, order a drink and have V drink it. Night City is beautiful but need s more immersion. Instead, it's all menu driven:( However, Starfield is the same way. All interactions are just menus, so I shouldn't expect much from an older game like CP 2077. Oh well, maybe things will be different on the sequel. @@kkammei

I had it set not to update by running it through nexus, but added a second m2 and reset every drive I had. So I am hoping I can still run update 2.0. For right now, Starfield is the sole game on my PC. I want to beat Cyberpunk in the future. This update excites me to no end. Now I can only hope it doesn't fry my I5 10k

Starfield...Street Fighter 6....Phantom Liberty. 2023 = decent year for gaming. Edit: that speech pattern you find funny in V's character is actually prevalent throughout the entire game, not just the DLC. I immediately recognized it because that's how some (but not all) Eastern Europeans talk when they speak English, as I lived and worked in Europe for many years and served with Poles on NATO deployments. (e.g.,: putting "that" at the end of a sentence)

Bought the game at launch, and have always loved it on PC version. In retrospect, the huge disaster of its release on old gen consoles was a blessing in disguise for me at least, as CDPR really worked hard to give us updates after updates, and the big ones that I remember, patches 1.3, 1.5, and 1.6 added new content to the game to keep us new players filled with new content. And now with 2.0. which sounds like a new version, it's like I'll be able to experience playing two versions of a AAA game that I've always loved and for free. So I feel like I really got my money's worth and so much more since I'm able to get these much content as opposed to just being able to experience one version of the game if I chose to wait for the "final and best version" of the game which is 2.0.

What a year for RPG gamers!! Baldur's Gate, Starfield, and now Cyberpunk 2077 1.0 after a couple of years only having the beta... err I mean 2.0!! What's really cool too is that while these are all RPGs, they are so different that it won't be exhausting but rather refreshing to play them in parallell.

The game ran fine after the 2.0 update but after I downloaded PL, I had issues with the game crashing when it was trying to cloud save. I tried dropping settings to lowest and it still crashed. I then went to turn off Cloud Sync in GOG but that didn't fix it. I had to turn off Cross Platform Progression in the game's settings and it's been smooth sailing ever since. I'm on a 2060 Super so my FPS is only in the 40's-50's when on Raytracing (Medium), but unless I'm playing online competitive games, I really don't feel much, if any, difference between 30 and 60. To put it into perspective, we all gamed at 30 fps just fine for the longest time, so when playing a solo game like this, I don't feel the need to be in the frame race. I like slow hikes, so I can enjoy the surroundings. But, that's just the opinion of someone who was a child during the Pac-demic. Back in the 80's, my friends and family caught the fever real bad. Some of us, like my father and I, have never been cured. ;) There is so much more going on in this expansion than people aren't talking about. (Probably can't and I understand.) I'm not a pro gamer or content creator, so if I'm stumbling across these things, I'm guessing the people playing it "professionally" have probably seen and noticed it all too. I won't spoil anything, but when they say they have reworked almost every aspect of the game, they didn't lie. I'm only a few hours into the expansion and the story has been great. People have mentioned that V seems different, and I also get that, but I feel they are now even more V than before. (At least the V I was playing. The "new" V is very inline with the dialogue choices I would make.) Speaking of dialogue, I don't know if different reviewers got different release versions, but I noticed some different options in some scenes. And these weren't options related to perks or attributes, just one or two different options here and there. Maybe it has to do with the life paths? All I know is that I've seen the same scenes several times now and the options have varied. I really enjoyed this and it really caught my attention. 2 that stick out most was during my initial convo with Meyers and when talking to the bar tender before Reed arrives. My point is, I feel like the changes run deeper than CDPR is letting on, and I'm guessing no one is talking about it/them because the release is still less than a week old. I won't even begin about some of the cool mechanics I stumbled upon while playing. Some of them I am really surprised I haven't seen in a video yet, as some have already been sort of advertised. The best way I can describe it so far is, CDPR is running ads for a slice of pie, but when you order it, a whole pie gets delivered instead of just that one slice.

"RPG" is a wide term these days. Cyperpunk is a great game - but calling it a RPG is a bad departure to the genre IMO. It has RPG element's like most games have today, but it's like calling KOTOR a shooter (:

You should not say this game is the best game of this generation. You should it wait until for the 2.0 update Phatom Liberty and then say it's the game of this generation. For example Mass Effect. All three games were the best of that generation of the 360 PS3 and PC because it the Star Trak of this generation.
