Nick, this is the best piece of advice that I've seen delivered via YT. At the end of the day, people that need lots of hand-holding through the preparation process likely do not have the personal attributes for SOF assignment anyway. When I went through selection (SFAS), my only preparation guide was an SAS selection handbook I purchased online. For six months, there was a lot of running, ruck marching, and strength training. It sucked but it worked. I spent 15 years in SOF after being selected... best job I ever had.

When I was in the Marines there was no option for special operations. I left the Marines and joined the Army with a Ranger contract having no idea what a Ranger was other than I got to go Airborne. I think not knowing what it was going to be like was an advantage. I had no expectations. I just did what they told me to do.

I quit playing video games a long time ago and I kept telling myself that I will join in the Military since I was 12 years old, now I'm 15 and I keep my word as a man. @nickiannucci70018 ай бұрын
This kind of attitude is awesome. Keep it up and never give up on that ambition. My advice, beside what was said in this video which is far more important but after that maybe Consider Army or Navy SOF. With enough pressure on your recruiter you can get yourself a SOF contract and go right into it. With the Marines you need to have been enlisted for at least 3 years and an NCO. If Marsoc is your dream then don’t fucking listen to me and get after it, but if your dream is SOF then the think about it. You’ve got 3 years to make that decision so no amount of personal research is gonna hurt. Good luck killer

You have to be mindful I would assume. Basically, you need to prepare for things in the now, and not have your mind wander into the future. Meaning, let’s say that the selection process is 6 to 7 months. If you’re getting your ass kicked on day two and you’re just looking at the next 6 to 7 months going through that your mind will get overwhelmed and you will tell yourself you cannot make it. Rather than doing that. The people who usually make it through are the ones who just worry about what they’re doing in the now! They’re not worrying about being punished, they not worrying about the next evolution, they’re just worrying about staying in push-up position. When they are eating they’re not worrying about the. 5 mile run afterwards the wearing about the food they are eating they take one evolution at a time then break up each evolution the tiny bite-size tasks that they have to complete with pure focus. They will also need to know how to be flexible, and no to almost be robotic, if knocked off their task and directed towards another, they need to attack the new task with vigor, that’s dropping everything they’re doing and focusing on that task whether it’s punishment or an evolution exercise.

If someone joins the military with 3 waivers and meets all the other requirements like rank/conduct/test scores/etc. for A&S with flying colors would their medical records hold them back enough to not be given a chance at applying or being accepted into the pipeline?

I’m 31, 5’10”, currently 240lbs (down from 285, purely from a change of diet, no exercise yet). FAT and out of shape. Going from a completely sedentary lifestyle. Spoke to a Marine recruiter over the phone, if I lose another 20lbs, he’s willing to work with me. I quit my job this week, to focus purely on my fitness goals. Fat loss is HUGE for me, but strength training is also up there on the priority list. Any advice for an older male trying to get in phenomenal shape within 2 months? The end of November is when I plan to sign my name on that dotted line. I have all the time in the world right now, but limited monetary resources. I have a gym membership to Planet Fitness. So far, I’m thinking mornings: 5-mile brisk walk (3-5mph), followed by 5-minute planks. Then I drive to the gym, and do a 15-mile ruck (20lb weighted vest) on the treadmill, followed up with pull-ups (likely assisted to start). What are some other low intensity workouts for the morning? And then, when I go back in the afternoon, what do you recommend for high intensity weight training? I need to become a BEAST! I quit my job, so it’s do or die, and I’m not fucking dying!! I’m sick of being this fat, lazy sack of shit.

Need to get a full astigmatism test at my personal optometrist, and the results will determine if I’m still eligible or not for the Marines. My cardio is WAY better than where I started 2-3 months ago, but my running sucks, still working on that. And I still need to lose another 15lbs. Overall, things are looking great! As long as my eyes are good enough, I should be shipping to basic training by the December 1!

Also can a marine be a ranger? Bc I know it’s a army school but I don’t know same with airborne and sf?
@ZenuxProduction Жыл бұрын
If you go marines you will have to serve for 2-4 years before even being eligible for marsoc or recon . You can go navy for navy seal or army for ranger . Both can be achieved faster but you will have to be grunt/infantry or maintain peak physical ability for a year onward. Delta I have no idea . But money wise you won’t get Jack unless you go airforce . You can so Army navy then Sf THEN after your contract is up try out private security contracting but you must be Sf or speak 3+ languages and be in an absolute stud.
