@TheSpicyLeg2 жыл бұрын
It’s actually “down to brass tacks”, likely because brass headed tacks were used to measure out lengths of fabric, rope, twine, etc, on the counter of hardware stores. Getting down to brass tacks was therefore to get to the conclusion of a matter, as one would when making a purchase at these stores.

@@ImAlexhearmemehYT no it wasn't important to its identity at all, Rome identity stems from long before the republic, especially from their warrior culture which they remained always, while the republic was despised by all but the corrupt senators as nothing but inneficient and corrupt bureaucratic mess which only succeeded due to dictators law, without dictators commanding the army in times of need it would have fallen to its enemies due to the senates sheer incompetence. And the senators became meaningless and powerless p@rasites after Caesars nephew Augustus created the Empire, their titles being honorific at best. I once had a fun role playing idea. If a PC in particular learns to cast Wish, then you’ll find yourself being hunted by a lot of various genies (mostly Efreeti and Dao) who plan to enslave you for your power because them having a slave who can cast wish is just another way for them to increase their reputation, even forcing you to make wishes for them that they couldn’t otherwise make for themselves. In other words, a slave who can cast Wish for their genie master is high quality “merchandise.”

I'm glad you're making this planar series. It will be great referrence material for me, as I recently had an idea for a campaign based on Risk of Rain that my group has expressed interest in, and I plan to justify the setting as a demiplane microcosm of the Planes in the Great Wheel, as well as a few additions that are there in some versions but not the current versions, primarily the Elemental Chaos and the quasielemental planes that exist between the elemental planes and the energy planes. That said, I noticed you have an older video covering the parallel plane: the Shadowfell, but you don't have a video for its counterpart, the Feywild. I assume that means the Feywild will be covered at some point along with all these other planes.

Have you found anything about the Efreet's view of Fire Genasi? Do they consider them 'more' than the other adventurers who find their way into the Brass City, or are they especially shunned as perversions of the proud Efreet heritage? If they consider humanoids to be so much lesser than themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if they were disgusted by the concept of a crossbreed, I suppose.

Most of the lore here predates the creation of genasi as a playable race. Since they've been added, the city of brass hasn't been covered in official materials, exept briefy in the ebberon sourcebook( and whether that's the same city of brass is debatable)
