@Hunterkage Joestar Even if you knew how to program, it would take years of experience to even start looking at youtube's algorithms and understand all the inner workings, nevermind making changes to it. I've worked at way smaller companies with much smaller platforms and they expect senior developers (7-10 years exp) to need 6 months to get into the job. You have no idea how huge of a project a platform like this is, programmers in huge companies don't even decide anything, management does. So the only way for an individual like you to change anything about youtube would require you to become a lead product manager or another top management function and even then you'd be severly restricted by the board and google's managers above you. This is a product supposed to bring in money and your opinion of how to improve the product for creators would mean very little to people working 50 hour-weeks whose entire job is increasing profit margins.

I let one of my players in my homebrew world play an Azer. 5 years of playing this campaign and I'll gladly say he's my favorite character to Dm. The player himself tends to rarely speak so when you said, "Azers are taciturn," I laughed so hard it hurt. One of the best things he's done with the character is to make rolls for training and then finally worked out how to control his own flame in order to grab a cloak and become a hot air balloon to skip parts of a dungeon. He's also decided his character loves to bake cinnamon rolls. Fenriz the Azer fighter is a hero to all Azers now!

@@varun-xu8gv more like their own series of videos, their lore is vast, with almost as many sub-variant races as the elves. It would essentially be a drunken Scottish Modern Marvels video on how it's made... Specifically to piss off the elves. Even the women have beards, and you know that thing in magical crafting you just can't pull off; yeah, they did it just like the elves did, and they didn't have to sacrifice the lives of 250 elders to do it. (Provided it wasn't hugging a tree or doing something actually useful like forging swords.) Their cuisine is based solely on "if it tastes good while drunk," And they are musical in a matter of singing drinking hymns. (Even the whistle while you work Disney depiction is true to that.) If they ever saw the video for the Ferd f-teen thousand, it would launch them into a fervent drive to make it not only a reality but the new Mithril standard of travel.

I don't know if it's canon but in one campaign I played as a Dwarf, I had Azer armor. It was pretty much a bronze costume that he slipped in that formed to his body. It had a mask that did the same thing, having holes for his facial hair and eyes. I came to learn it was made from what an Azer leaves behind when it dies via cold... a headless hollow shell with a partial neck and a mask that was once the face. It was great armor at its base but not even the best compared to other front-liners in the party. The damage resistance from physical, fire, and bonuses to saves were the biggest bonuses. Also, the armor was anti-encumbered... wearing it was like walking around naked... added to my character's weight but it supported itself fully. We never encountered Azers while I played but I was warned that any Azer seeing me wear it would get immediately enraged.
@EunoiaRPG3 жыл бұрын
I like to think the truth of their creation lies somewhere in the middle of what 4th edition says and the other sources cited. I'd believe that at one point fire giants had Dwarf slaves somewhere on the plane of fire, but the Dwarves couldn't last very long even with their constitution. And the best Dwarven smiths ended up creating some of these Azer in their own image that could self produce. Perhaps borrowing some kind of fire plane McGuffin magic to do it. And once the Azer were around, there was no further need to keep Dwarves as slaves as they would be inferior models in those hot conditions due to them needing food and water.

My leader of the Azers, is basically going to be Elon Musk. "Inspections" in that case take a whole new meaning. Basically treat him like a super high level engineer. When it comes to inspect your work, he either gives you the idea you need for a breakthrough, or he demotes you because you have been promoted to your level of incompetence (I think that's called the Peter principle). It's something to be feared and desired. These inspections give the king incredibly deep insights to what is possible. His power would lie in his subtlety, and before you notice he's disrupted an entire sector by changing the balance of power.

One interesting hypothetical is what would the D&D universe look like if actual evolution was how life developed within the Wheel, so that creatures that were surrounded by things immune to something they wouldn't have such attacks, and if local creatures were weak against something, the odds that some local predator or other would have that would be pretty high...

So, according to what can be found on the Azer race though the Dungeons and Dragons fandom, Azer have often acted as servants of either Kossuth or certain Dwarven gods, so much so as to actually be listed as one of Moradin's favoured creatures. So with that in mind, how likely do you think it would be for an Azer clan to be found working with a Dwarven clan on a near constant basis? I do of course, acknowledge that this may, or may not be based entirely on theories constructed by fans of Dungeons and Dragons, and thus may not actually be valid, but if it were in fact valid, the possibilities alone could be rather interesting to say the least... One such possibility being that the Dwarves would trade precious gemstones to the Azer in exchange for precious metals with which they would forge great weapons and suits of armour for the warriors who defend their Clan Hall, or even to certain, brave Dwarven adventurers who set forth on missions and quests of grave importance to both clan and kin.

Pity there is so few things known about the Azer, they sound really interesting. But that allows freedom of creativity without hurting the Lore. I had the idea to make a disguised Azer Artificer NPC my Players can find in my homebrew campaign. He appears as a ordinary dwarf, living solitary in a forge in a forest, though his magic guise can't suppress his heat completelly, so he just seems like a very hot person (like a normal person that emits heat. My brother is like that. He almost always emits an aura of heat in a way that, if he stands behind you, it feels like your back is turned towards an oven. Like that). He can make Equipment for the party, and eventually, if they return often enough and are at good terms with him, he will reveal himself (or can be found out by the party by accident) and ask them for help. His Clan was enslaved by a cruel efrit, who killed most of them. During a uprising, he and some others created what they called Glazers, icy undead Azers, that wouldn't live long in the fire plane, but made terrible and effective assassins against the efrit. He was the only surviver and banished for this crime. He doesn't want the name of his Clan to die with him, so he creates a "son" (which could serve as hook for some adventures to find rare materials for him to build his son), but isn't strong enough to give him live on his own, so he asks the party to travel to the plane of fire to retrieve a "Spark of the first Flame" for him. I think, this could make for an interesting plot line.
