Out of all the major celebrity deaths that have ever happened Robin's passing was the only celebrity death I actually shed tears over. This movie was like I tried to put myself as a small kid into this movie hoping that my dad would love me enough to want to dress up disguised as an old nanny to spend time with me after the divorce of my parents but my dad wouldn't even try to see me dressed as himself. Only by court order was he forced to. I always wished Robin was my real father in real life especially how he was a true father to the teen son in this film. I just wanted my dad to accept me as his son. But he never did.

I lived in San Francisco from 1993 until 2010. I worked for a family that lived across the street from Robin Williams' home in Seacliff He had just moved in there recently, and he had a giant wire topiary frame almost 25' tall of a T Rex dinosaur installed in his side yard, just waiting for the gardener to add the greenery. On Halloween, he passed out toothbrushes instead of candy, and the kids were bummed... I entered a bookstore on Fillmore Street one late afternoon and realized Robin had walked in quickly ahead of me, his head down and his hands in his pockets. He spoke very softly to the cashier. He had a book on order. Complete opposite of his public persona. But it wasn't so much because he was trying to go unnoticed; he was just low-key when "off-duty"... To prove that -- one of the best stories I had read about him in the local Nob Hill Gazette was when he and his wife Marsha were coming out of a movie theater one evening, and they were approached by a guy who just wanted to express his admiration for Robin's work. Robin and Marsha were heading off to dinner at a restaurant just down the street, and they invited the guy to join them, which he did. Dream come true for that guy! But that's who Robin was: gracious and kind I was a nanny back then, and one of the boys was a classmate of Robin's son, Zach Robin Williams was "just one of the locals" to us (when he was around!), and we loved him. He was "ours" Sorry this is so long, but I'm glad I could post this and tell people he was the real deal My friend's husband was the fire chief who responded to the call to Robin's house in Tiburon when he died. I cried for days... I still miss him
