Had to watch this for the 50th time since Easter is almost here. I loved Martha's old shows but when her mom was on omg it was extra special. I would record her show everyday and would come home have a quick dinner, get into my sweats and escape into Martha's world.

I could just cry when I see your wonderful videos of you and your mother. You both had such a wonderful bond and she had such a loving presence in those classic videos. All of the recipes are wonderfully classic and so reminiscent of the past when my mother would cook. I really loved how sweet and loving you were with her and it really seemed to bring the best out in you. Brava for such a wonderful dedication to your mother! Thank you so much!

What a nice and simple way to eat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. In the end, we give up what we think we cannot live without, that could be sex, money, alcohol, drugs, video games, computer, our phones etc, and the point is to realize that life itself comes from God, not from any of those things we are so rooted and attached to. God is who we depend on. Never forget that!

You don't put icing on hot cross buns. It's a mix of flour and water paste to make the cross.
@valeriebrown47693 жыл бұрын
I’m sure that these are fine, however, they are not authentic. Growing up in England hot cross buns would only be available on Good Friday at the local bakery. My Mum would order them and I used to be sent to pick them up - 4 daughters, Mum and Dad, one bun each. They had currants and candied peel ( a must) as well as lots of spices. The cross, made with flour and water was piped on prior to baking. Never used icing sugar. The glaze was brushed on after baking, either a sugar/syrup mix or warm Lyle’s golden syrup. This is how I make them today.

@ericlomas54676 жыл бұрын
nice video - but traditionally, hot cross buns do not have icing on top - here in the UK, the cross is piped on before baking and is a mixture of flour and water.

It's a terrible faux-pas to create the crosses with a sugar icing. It is done traditionally with a white flour paste which is baked with the buns, and therefore not superficial.
