I was lucky enough to be there when this was recorded (this is from JD's The WildLife Concert) in 1995. He could hold that note even longer than in this performance. So glad it moved you so much!

I am a huge John Denver fan! Saw him in concert dozens of times, including being at the taping of the Wildlife Concert that this video was from. It was recorded at Sony Music Studios in New York City and a CD and video was released based on the recording of this concert. The song, For You, is actually my wedding song. One of the most beautiful songs ever written!!

This song is my favorite John Denver song, and that's saying a lot since I love them all! I was lucky enough to have found a love like this in my husband of 50 years and counting. His lyrics really touch my heart and his voice touches my soul. He was such a great performer, sounded just as good live as he did on his recordings, pure talent, no auto tune. He loved nature and wrote many songs about it. You're right about him being a romantic, he wrote and sang the most beautiful love songs.

John was more than a singer, he was a storyteller and was able to tap into the most human heartfelt aspirations with apparent ease and sincerity. The mark of a great artist is to transcend a song and lift people to a higher plain of understanding.

Wow, that was an incredibly moving reaction to an incredibly moving song. John Denver's music often has this kind of effect because he was a deeply feeling man. There are a great number of other songs with sentiments like this that he also sang. Hopefully you will get to react to some of these as well. As for this one, you did an unbelievable job in reacting! Here's to your next one! 🙏😊💜

John wrote this for his second wife. He wrote most of the songs he sang. His music is universally love. Take Mw Hom Cuntry Roads, calypso and all of songs of nature and human kind. He was a singer who cared abot this world and its people, Sady , john died in at age 53 in a plane crash. His song still give joy, i was privleges to see him in person twice. The second time John was on stage at the Fox Theater inAtlanta,georgia with just two guitars and a paino. He sang for two ANDHALKF HOUR WITH JUST A SHORT INTERMISSION. iT WAS WONDERFUL.

I'm 66, and I've loved him since the early 70s. His voice is so clear and beautiful. His early tragic death hit me so hard. I still listen to his music often, and I still mourn his loss. Have you heard "Annie's Song"? It's another love song of his, and probably my favorite love song ever.

Since I was 15 years old back in the late 70's John Denver got me to my School Peers and got this Handicap Person like me to Me-low down even to Sleep with his Music. John Denver was an Angel Sent by God to sing us Beautiful Nature Music from the Hearts to all of us. I think I will meet him in Heaven one Day. As I'm to want to be an Actor and Singer to. But Been Handicap things are not easy. But I know I will Sing with him in the Present of God one Day. God Bless You all

John wrote this song for his then Aussie girlfriend Cassandra and she seemed to be emotionless everytime I saw a video where he sang it to her. He later said that she made a fool out of him. However, it produced a beautiful love song and to my knowledge, it's the first time he played the piano while singing. Anyway, thanks for reviewing this beautiful song : )

John Denver is a great singer and song writer. He had loads of fantastic songs and sounds just as good live as he does on his studio versions. I love this song and think it is better than his other love song 'Annie'. He was an environmentalist before most people knew what one was. He died far too young and the world is a lesser place because of his death.

@katdelrio53165 ай бұрын
No... Annie's Song is about his first wife. It's very well documented. Both he and Annie have talked about it. You wouldn't write this about your child, "Come let me love you, let me give my life to you, let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms, let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you. Come let me love you, come love me again." Annie struggled with infertility so they adopted Anna Kate and Zak. Jesse Belle is his biological child. But it is a powerful and beautiful song. A great name for a little girl. 😊
