Hector is by far the best man in this whole sad conflict, but he should have just punched his brother in the nose, tied him up, and turned that ship around and dropped Helen off at port the minute he found out about her. There was absolutely no reason to entertain his brother's lust.

If by legends of Iliad, Achilles was a demi god that mortal part of him was removed by Thetis his mother saved his ankle. While Hector was a mere mortal yet even he bested Aeneas a demi god himself . Paris was a better fighter than Hector (he was defeated Hector in competition that almost got himself killed by other Priam sons) yet his lack of courage hinder his abilities in combat to be shine. What Hector shown is not a bravery 'it's his courage that made him stood up for Troy.
