Out of curiosity, my dad and I wanted to watch through every non-MCU/Fox Marvel movie. Another interesting thing about the Man-Thing/Swamp Thing similarities was that Len Wein (Swamp Thing’s creator) and Gerry Conway (Man-Thing’s co-creator) were roomates at the time these characters were being created. Apparently Conway tried to talk Wein out of Swamp Thing’s origin, but Len “didn’t see the similarities”. So maybe it was some kind of subconscious exchange of ideas? Either way it’s really weird

Bendigo I was in and an Australia guy I was in the company of one day showed me a steak pie and he said something like " What you think of that mate eh? A meat pie " . He thought it would impress me, like a can you believe we in Australia put meat in pies kind of thing. He either didn't realise that this was a British thing or perhaps because of my Scottish accent he thought I was from somewhere else. He was so proud to introduce me to the famous Australian dish that I didn't have the heart to explain to him that I not only was aware of it but that I was pretty sure this came to Australia with the British.
