Mission Impossible 4, the one where Tom Cruise climbs the building, is where things really kicked off in the long running franchise. Big stunts for real is now the name of the game along with new comers Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and returning characters of Simon Peggs Benji and sort of Ving Rhames Luther. This movie has it all, masks, sandstorms, the Kremlin exploded, holographic hallways, an okay villian, the whole package. Thanks for watching out Caravan Of Garbage review!

I grew up on Dubai, I was probably about 10 or 11 when this came out. It was huge. Everyone saw it. Everyone had their own stories about who or what they saw being filmed. It stayed in cinemas for 3 or 4 months. It took probably about 2 weeks to film the Burj Khalifa climb bit. Pretty much every day you could see helicopters flying around and circling the building. As a kid it was really cool to just have that going on around you.

Another fun fact is the number A113 (which is a reference to the classroom used by graphic design and character animation students at Cal Arts) makes three appearances throughout the film. The first is on the side of Hanaway's ring in the flashback sequence, the second is verbally as Ethan's agent ID that he recites through the phone after he escapes from the hospital and the third is on one of the gloves that Ethan uses to scale the building in Dubai. During that scene, the line “Blue equals glue, red equals dead” was actually improvised on set by Simon Pegg who had apparently been binge-watching the Mission: Impossible revival series from the late 80s/early 90s and decided to rework a similar line of dialogue from the first episode of season 3 which involved a plot to unleash a genetic virus capable of destroying a nation's total wheat harvest. This led to some members of the production team jokingly referring to the movie as Blue Harvest which coincidentally was also the working title of the 1977 film Star Wars.

The unmasking reveal was because the ploy was to give Wistrum the actual codes so that he would lead them to Hendricks. The reveal that it was actually Hendricks in the hotel with them meant they lost that play. And I typed this out but nobody's gonna care anyway because Tom Cruise is still saving cinema. Brad Bird did great with this one. Excellent balance of humor and action. Probably my second favorite next to Rogue Nation.

The color of Ethan's suit was grown from an African flower. The flower produced a unique shiny blue that Tom saw and insisted that it be used. However due to how rare the flower is it had to be grown and harvested to get enough to make the suit. This led to the working title of this movie being Blue Harvest.

My uncle and aunt went to a film festival in Dubai (my uncle worked in Hollywood) and they said it was the creepiest place they ever went to because everyone seemed a little too nice and phony and you get the impression you’re always being watched. But then they ran into Tony Shalub and his wife in the hotel restaurant, whom they had never met before, and Tony invited them to join him and his wife for breakfast because my uncle and aunt were the only other Americans there. So they had breakfast with Tony Shalub and his wife in Dubai. And this was like at the height of “Monk”, too. Tony Shalub is a very nice person apparently. And then later, my uncle was talking with TJ Miller while Miller was working on the “Emoji” movie and Miller and his wife had just come back from Dubai and his wife was detained at the airport because she had drawn a mustache on the face of some guy on a magazine cover and I guess that guy was a government official or something. Nobody saw her do this and she kept the magazine so nobody saw it in the trash or something. But somehow they knew she did that to the face of a guy on a magazine that she still had in her possession and they questioned her for hours before finally releasing her and letting her go back to America. So they must have cameras everywhere in Dubai.

Imagine this scene. Tom Cruise is facing a dozen unnamed henchmen. Suddenly, they all take off their masks! It turns out, they were a completely different set of 12 henchmen all along! Got 'em!!!

(Jungle) Green Trivia is back, baby! Playing Donkey Kong music for the trivia segment and as we all know, Donkey Kong 64 was released with a "Jungle Green" N64 bundle... Not only that, but James mentions Mission Impossible The Falcon: Part 3 which stars Peter Graves. Who did Peter Graves portray in 1966's Texas Across The River? One Capt. RODNEY Stimpson! Its been right in front of us the entire time.

Easily the best of the series, and I love how they kind of went from here to make improved MI films.

They figured out the formula in 3. That’s when Tom Cruise started running in movies.

I need the boys editing to get a friggin raise. Writers strike these bad boys and get them more money. I need a video of just James and Mason cut outs. Let's get this going. Amazing. All amazing.

The only reason I saw this movie in theaters was because they showed the first 8 minutes of "The Dark Knight Rises" in between the trailers and this movie. I'm sure at least a 4th of that number should be accredited to this. 18:32

My laugh at James' stunt, sounded like a squeaky door.

Well you people forgot the plothole that luther stickell (yeah he made a cameo in that movie at the end) doesn't know benji and Ethan had to introduce him. But benji made his first appearance in MI 3 and they and luther were in a scene together (when Ethan and his wife Julia were leaving)

Really good CoG for a really good movie. That climbing the building stunt is the best stunt we’ve got in MI and from James’ sleep deprived body

Mission Impossible where they just walk into a bathroom and all of the top secret files they are looking for are sitting out in boxes next to the toilet, perhaps?

I really liked Paula Patton in this one. Kind of a shame we didnt see her in more movies.

A fun piece of "reality" trivia for 'Rogue Nation' is that people evacuate their bowels when they die...therefore, after Ethan is resuscitated by Ilsa post water-safe heist he does that entire motorcycle chase with poopy-pants. 'Mission: Unpleasant'. Thanks guys for another great take.
