Actually, the idea of jerk Spider-Man in a universe where uncle Ben still lives makes a surprising amount of sense. Peter being a genius isn‘t the result of Ben dying. Neither is him getting bitten by a radioactive spider. It‘s only his sense of responsibility that is linked to Uncle Ben‘s death. So, that works fairly well.
@jessecortez9449
@jessecortez9449 2 жыл бұрын
It really does. You can see the potential for Peter being a prick when he refuses to stop the robber that ends up killing him. That prick attitude combined with his genius intellect would result in a Spidey Stark.
@rakelodakel
@rakelodakel 2 жыл бұрын
@@jessecortez9449 yeah, I kinda love that version of Spider-Man for this exact reason, he really brings home that central message of great power and responsibility by never learning the responsibility part. And I feel its reflected a lot in the MCU where Stark sees a better version of himself in Peter.

I love the contrast of the two alternate realities Spidey visits. In one, Peter Parker has the worst possible luck, goes insane with grief and becomes the murderous Spider-Carnage and in the second he has the best possible luck and becomes an arrogant stuck-up jerk who automatically assumes he will win. Our Spider-Man's reality lies somewhere in between those two extremes, just like our lives. No spoilers for No Way Home but how much of a mind **** would it be if the final villain of the movie was a twisted murderous alternate universe Spider-Man.
@DSan-kl2yc

Except that uncle Ben and aunt may are both decent people that would talk him out of it eventually. They're still examples and decent people. Pete was trying to earn money to give them a better life in the first place cause of how much he liked them.

The 90s cartoons were funny because they would fit in every single possible character from the comics except for one huge exception. The Spider-Man cartoon's was Sandman, but the X-Men creators refused to use Kitty Pryde because they already had Jubilee. So X-men somehow has multiple Mojo and Fabian Cortez appearances but zero Shadowcat!
@einootspork
@einootspork 2 жыл бұрын
@@SuperpanFilms X-Men didn't use Kitty Pryde because she was in a poorly received pilot for an X-Men series called "Pryde of the X-Men". They didn't wanna have anything to do with it after that so they left her out. Jubilee was a replacement for her if anything.
@SuperpanFilms
@SuperpanFilms 2 жыл бұрын
@@einootspork That could have been a part of it but I'm sure the main thrust for picking Jubilee was that she was the current kid sidekick in the comics in 1992 as Kitty had moved on to Excalibur and wasn't emphasized as being an X-Men character. You're right that Jubilee was her replacement though as she got all her storylines so they probably didn't feel they needed her. I'd hope she wasn't blackballed because of PoXM as every other character in that pilot got used. Heck, it's not even that bad by 80s cartoons standards so hopefully Marvel wasn't too embarrassed by it.

I would love to see you guys do Waterworld. The film is ripe with Caravan of Garbage material which includes but is not limited to: -Its overall reception and cult following. -The awesome intro effect with the Universal logo showing the melting ice caps with narration from the classic 90's trailer voice guy. -Its notorious troubled production as well as its insane budget at the time. -Its legit practical effects and actions scenes and how its basically Mad Max on the ocean. -Kevin Costner as a weird emotionless fish man. -Kevin Costner attempting to murder a small child but then having his weird cold fish man heart warmed by said child in the end. -The fact that for some reason it still has an active Universal Studios stunt show while classic rides like ET and Back To The Future are long gong. -Its awesome James Newton Howard score, and also how its main action theme sounds slightly similar to the Galaxy Quest theme. -And finally, the film has another over the top but nonetheless great Dennis Hopper performance as a crazy 90's villain. I'm sure both of your guys would have a lot to say about it, both good and bad, or mostly bad, or mostly good! Either way, I'd love to see it. I like the belive Disney's "the little mermaid" functions as season 6 of this series. After Madam Web sends Peter Parker to days of early age of exploration, he loses his memory and thinks he's a prince named Eric, but he doesn't forget that he's their looking for the love of his life which is why before he's even seen Ariel he says "I know she's out there somewhere". Then when he meets Ariel he immediately falls in love because of her red hair and firey spirit. She matches the woman he is looking for.

There’s other censorship stuff that you all missed out on: - They never mention blood in the show (even in the vampire sections). They refer to it as plasma. Yes they refer to it in the song - Guns also were heavily censored. They had to use plasma/laser or futuristic weapons. Even the police have like futuristic weapons - Mutants and Mutations were referred to as neogenics

Recently learned it's a misconception about this show "not being allowed" to have Spider-Man punching. People tend to think this show was overly censored or whatever, but it recieved the same type of censorship as any other cartoon at the time. This comes from the showrunner himself. (In the video it's the guy that talked about season 6 and released the script)
