After seeing this fantastic vid I realized why Rise of Skywalker Just didn't work for me. I realized that you cannot have the emperor without Darth Vader. That dynamic is absolutely necessary because both of them are half a characters. Only together are they really this individual that comes to life. It doesn't matter that they're hardly ever together in the original movies only that they both are there. In fact I think the real reason vader died in the end was because he figuratively AND literally killed half of himself in the act of saving luke.

I often wonder when people say this, as he was very successful relative to most in his field if he just didn't want more success. Like he could probably live quite comfortably off of residuals, if he's made sensible financial choices he may have no need to work. I mean so many people fall in the category of "under appreciated artist" yet so many of the massively successful people in Hollywood are pretty mediocre. It makes you forget that if you live a normal lifestyle that even moderate success in Hollywood is probably more than most people ever expect to reach as well as being plenty. Probably most people make as much money as they need to to get out of Hollywood and then don't really try to come back.

Prince Xizor is one of the most interesting additions in Star Wars, really wished they could've kept him and his story that ties into the Skywalker saga. Loved this video so much I just had to rewatch it I recently gifted all of my Star Wars EU books to a kid, but I kept Shadows of the Empire and it takes prime spot on my bookshelf

my favorite moment out of the whole SWEU 'legends' was when IG-88 downloaded his 'mind' into the Death Star, and essentially became the most powerful being lol

Fun fact: The Black Sun Syndicate and the Falleen species from Shadows of the Empire appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars specifically Season 5 where they reluctantly side with Pre Viszla and Bo-Katan Kryze's Death Watch as well as Darth Maul's Shadow Collective in taking Mandalore and overthrowing/killing Duchess Satine Kryze.

Just when it feels like Shadows of the Empire has faded into fandom obscurity and people begin to question if it ever even happened or was just some collective 90s-era fever dream, out comes this video! Great overview and recap of the whole multimedia project, well done, sir.

Kind of sad this isn't James with his phone in portrait view shouting the names of star wars novels into a mirror with the novel titles coming up in comic sans.
