My wife and I Visit Malta every year and if you are prepared to walk you’ll find absolute treasures. Malta has changed over the years, become very tourist centric, but get off the usual tourist routes and you’ll find the real Malta, awesome welcoming people, beautiful areas. Thanks Steve that’s another area we’ll visit next year, god willing.

A LOVELY AUTUMN WALK IN MALTA'S 'SECRET GARDEN' 🎄. Steve, what a beautiful garden and which I would like to visit one day. Those views are breathtaking ⛵. Apparently, those plaques on wall are British Army battalions' crests. I noticed that some have been 'removed'. FYI : Just found /read online an article about the amazing history/story of this place "in detail" - "Times of Malta" 🗞 dated 7 February 2021, article written by Albert Ganado ⚔ 🛡. AWSOME 😲. THANKS STEVE🚶🎄 🌊 🎥 👏. Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™

One of my earliest finds here. So weird and atmospheric and different from Msida Bastion Historic Garden and Villa Frere Garden though both are nearby. You should do them one day, too. (Gardjola, I think, btw?)

We had a little giggle at the beginning when you mentioned how peaceful it was and then right on cue the Maltese car horns started up 😂 These gardens are beautiful though Steve with such spectacular views 😍🛥🌊🪴🌳 it’s just a shame that it’s looking ever so slightly unloved and could do with a bit of TLC ❤

Hi Steve What a lovely walk At the closedoff end if you walk on do you get to the hotel Excelsior ? If it still exists I remember long ago my foreman and his wife went there for a couple of weeks and were very impressed Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Gozo ferry used to go from Sa Maison in the 70's..the area used to be very run down and smelly but you wouldn't have noticed from that lovely park I'm sure Best wishes Peter G

Is there still a hotel named Athena I think? Was there in late 70’s and mainly remember the large churches (especially the one with unexploded bomb from WW II) There was also a boutique called Mary’s House. I remember the shopping town square also with high end shops and restaurants with outside tables. I know that was a long time ago but thought I’d ask. Thank you. Take care.

The church that got hit by the bomb was Mosta Rotunda. I’m not sure about the Athena hotel as that’s before my time. I’ve just googled ‘Mary’s House Malta’ and on Google images you can see a few photos of a ladies shop. Not sure if this is the one you remember. Hope that helps 🙂
