Actually, I was on the ride once with some nice little girls and they asked me "Is this ride based on a movie?" Now, I'm a Disneyland expert and I know a ton of history on it and it's rides. And I explained to them the movie and the ride and compared the two together. I also told them about the scenes in the ride and what they mean in relation to the movie. And their answers were "Ahh! Now that makes sense!" and things like "I didn't know that!"

Went to Disney a few days ago knowing that this would be the last time I’d be able to ride splash mountain as it will be closed next month. It was great and emotional, it’s always been my favorite. And then we got stuck at the top before the drop for like 20 minutes, as if it was letting me savor the finale of this amazing ride. I’ve had amazing memories with this ride, and it will be dearly missed, RIP Splash Mountain

I spoke about it in past tense in my post as figured it will be up after it closes longer than it is up before it closes lol. Didn't know Disney lands wasn't closing yet though, that is interesting. No date announced for that yet? It is such a fun ride.

I had the privilege to go on this ride one last time before it closed forever. This has been my favorite ride in disneyland my entire life, ever since i was 6. The music, ride, and the atmosphere is insane. That trip i went on splash mountain 21 times in 1 day. I really made the most of it.

I have been on this ride about 12 times from my 5 trips to Disney. Absolute favorite. First ride I ever went on at Disney. I’m absolutely shocked and sad that it is changing. I’m so so upset. The single rider line for this at Disneyland is the best because you can pretty much ride as much as you want within a few minutes. A big plus for me is that the CMs tend to place you in the back, so as a result, you don't get wet as much. This might be a deal breaker for some, but I don't want to be drenching wet in January or February. I love the show part of the ride as well as the thrills. Disneyland is the best at combining show with thrill.

Different parks have different style music echo for Splash Mountain ride; the first Splash Mountain in California Disneyland uses a rather jazzy big band style due to the ride area's close proximity to the bayou orientated New Orleans Square, the second Splash Mountain which is in Walt Disney World of Florida, uses the country western style with lots of banjos, fiddles and harmonicas due to being located in Frontierland and the last Splash Mt. in Tokyo Disneyland, is the same of WDW's (banjos, fiddles and harmonicas) where Tokyo's Critter Country is themed to American Frontier wildlife themed to partially Texas and the New Mexico and actually is the one-half expansion of the park's Westernland (Tokyo's equivalent to Frontierland) and that Critter Country's theme is pretty much like Hong Kong's Grizzly Gulch, but some songs in the ride, are sung in Japanese.

Yeah, its a good time to go. It might be a little crowded, but the magic makes up for it! ;) Also; California Adventure closes at 8 or 9, Disneyland closes at Midnight. Hope it helped, say "hi" to Mickey for me when you do go!

Yes!! I noticed that too! On the way up the a little animal sings to its little kids she's like really scared. They are like little gofers or something I always look that them when I go on it! Glad someone noticed that there was no little song there too!!

I usually won't ride log flumes at standard amusement parks (Six Flags, etc) because I don't like getting wet at parks but I'll ride Splash Mountain all day and night just for the music and theming.
