Infact this video is a little sad. If you look closely you will see that Robin and Barry are not looking at each other. This was just before the group broke up in 1969 because of the 2 ego's of Robin and Barry. The final straw that caused the breakup was infact the song First of may. In 1969 they made a concept like album called Odessa. A fan favorite. But when it came to choose the first single from the album the choices were Lamplight (with Robin on lead) and First of may (with Barry on lead) and their producer Robert Stigwood chose First Of May. Robin said "I've Had It" and left the group leaving Barry and Maurice to continue the Bee Gees name. Both The Bee Gees (Barry An Maurice) and Robin solo had a number 2 hit in 1969 after the breakup. Don't Forget To Remember and Saved By the Bell In 1970 they went back together again. Barry called Robin or maybe the other way around and they meet one afternoon. They decided to get back together and in that afternoon they wrote 2 of their biggest hits Lonely Days and How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.

Yes, but he is right , we had FUN back in the day! We'd actually make "peace trains" - all of us at HS and CYO dances. ALL groups got along, even tho races were quite separate in my town and in most, No dirty dance, just couples in close embracing slow dances. And before that, lots of group dances. that got all out on the dance floor.

Probably the best group ever in the history of music. You have to hear Too Much Heaven. All of their songs were good! This one is Robin Gibb. He has a great voice, has a "tremulo" ( shaking ) in his voice. Barry was the "chick magnet," but he married and has had a lasting marriage with five children. The Bee Gees were from the UK, but they moved to Australia. There were four boys and one daughter. Barry, Robin, Maurice, and Andrew. Barry was scalded in his kitchen at the age of two and spent a year in the hospital. If you want a fascinating but heart-breaking story, there are great biographies online. Barry is the one with the terrific falsetto.

Robin was a great singer. He was the best. His solo music was very popular in Europe. The manager wouldn’t let it be promoted in the US or it would have been in the charts here. He was on a lot of the tv shows and like I said, he was excellent in Europe. Barry and Robin did most of the lead on their songs. Maurice had his own sound and he was very talented too. They were all very talented. Rest In Peace Rob. You are truly loved! ❤️🌹❤️

This was played at his funeral. Oh the times were amazing NO ONE took themselves too seriously. And the fourth brother is not here. That is just a member of the band ..

Robin is singing , Barry & Maurice doing back up. It was more fun. They started as young kids , playing locally in Australia.

Those was the good ole days in the sixties and seventies you couldn't tell who was singing what there are so many blue eyed soul brothers and sisters ,that was the name black people respectfully gave white artist with a black sound back then life was so easy you worked or attended school and then treated yourself to a party with no negative and tragic news being reported the next day . We passed away in order of birth the elderly , tragically a middle age became stricken with a sickness and passed and the youth aged it was extremely rare to bury a infant ,child ,teen or young adult sad the youth today can't enjoy their life . Great job TYFS , stay safe.

This is a very early song from the Bee Gees. For most of their career, there were 3 brothers. Barry, the tall one and twins Maurice (balding) and Robin (wavy hair). There was a younger brother Andy that stayed back in Australia until he got some performing under his belt. He came over the the US, and mostly was solo. He lived like a rock star and died at the age of 30 from heart problems brought on by his earlier drug abuse. Another early Bee Gees song that is great is Massachusetts.

They were younger there. Time was less stressful back then.

Yeah, we had fun. Didn't spend too much time worrying about what was dangerous - we all accepted that life is a gamble at best and we went out and enjoyed it. Very different head today.

That is an older video when they were younger, This song was written in 1968 and that is Robin singing it and he was the one with the natural falsetto voice, Barry learned to sing falsetto in late 70s. The second song is The First of May and Barry is singing it in his natural voice before he started singing falsetto in late 70s. Before Robin died in 2012, he wrote a symphony called Titanic Requiem which is very haunting and beautiful.

These bros, two of which are twins. Born in England grew up in Australia, started working in pubs at a very young age. The younger brother was a solo artist, but died far too early. The name was the brothers Gibb, so later it was shortened to the Bee Gees.

See the live version of You Should Be Dancing which has ( rare appearance ) all four brothers. Hey, Robin was more long-faced, but he had star power of his own. Maurice was the quiet one who behind the scenes got things organized. He and Robin were fraternal twins, three years younger than the chick magnet.

I had the album Bee Gees Gold which had all their early pre-disco hits like this song. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart is one of my favorite. I used to roller-skate around the basement with my sister to this album. And ABBA 💃🏻🕺🏻
