Underdogs who deserved a boost of confidence and cool. Already corrected this once here, but I'll put here for all to see. The name ZZ Top does NOT come from tobacco and rolling papers. That's an urban legend. The name is a nod to BB King. The original idea was "ZZ King" but they decided that sounded more like a ripoff than a homage. They decided that BB was at the top, so they settled on "ZZ Top." THAT is the TRUE story. EDIT: No, that's not something I "heard." That's from the Rancho Texicano liner notes.

Cufflinks are worn with French cuffs, no buttons, instead they have holes in both sides of the cuffs and the Cufflinks are put through both holes and the cuffs themselves are placed inside to inside. And the doors hinged at the back of the door are called "Suicide doors", if you open the door in traffic and get clipped, instead of the door just being ripped off it gets slammed into whatever body part is in the way. 😳😳😳

Originally, cufflinks were for use with dress shirts they did not have buttons on the cuffs. The cufflink actually linked the two sides of the cuff together and we’re decorative. Hence the term cuff link. In more recent years, as shirts have been given buttons on the cuffs, cufflinks are used in addition to add a bit of bling.

When this was new MTV played it often; just as they did with all of the top pop-hit $$ making songs. I was 16 years old. I wouldn't mind revisiting that era again. This was just 1 of 3 or 4 colossal hits that ZZ Top pumped out in the mid '80's. As far as I know they still make appearances but don't quote me on that. Cufflinks--the traditional kind--are used in place of buttons. The two sides of the shirt cuff are held together with them. Great way to upgrade your look. But then I'm 55 and remember when guys wore suits to work and so they had to work harder to dress up and used accessories like cufflinks and ties or Ascots and vests and pocket handkerchiefs and smooth leather (vs. wing tips) shoes. LOVE to see a sharp-dressed man!!!!!

Greatest guitar icon, Jimi Hendrix called Gibbons the best guitarist that he ever seen..... Hendrix gave Gibbons a Pink Stratocaster as a gift. They became friends in late 60's before Jimi's death in 1970. Jimi sadly joined the infamous 27 Club. 27 Club is a sad club when musicians or singers dies at the age of 27.
