I'm not even over exaggerating, this guy is definitely the one of the smartest people on social media, all the information I gained from this channel has really opened my eyes to whats going on in the fake world of the internet. all of it is true like what the hell we should all be wayy more grateful for what we have now. a long time ago people had to send letters to others to support them, but here I am, a 14 yr old kid on a laptop pressing buttons that appear as letters on a screen forming a paragraph that you are reading.

I didn’t realise how much I ‘chose’ isolation until I went back to the office after almost 2 years of working from home. Our HR had sent us a survey trying to gauge our receptiveness towards returning to the office and the vast majority wanted to continue working from home, including me. I gave a long feedback saying how offices are obsolete and we can work wherever we want so why make it harder for staff by having to commute. But they made it mandatory to come in at least twice a week. After so long, I had forgotten what it felt like to just sit around with colleagues and have a chat about our week and sharing food. It just felt so human and I didn’t notice how much I’ve missed this. I was so used to being a robot at home with minimum interactions with anyone outside of my family. Yes, virtual interactions are a thing but it sure can’t beat the connection you gain from a physical meet-up.

Yes and no, testing equipment makes sure you don't have to buy it and be disappointed. You can make sure you get what you need and not what others are pushing. Obviously only listening to one source of tests is not recommended, but with 4-5 it allows you to limit needless purchases.

Where you can see exactly how much time you have spent on the platform today and where you can set yourself daily time limits. Wtf happened to humanity, we should have never invented the smartphone, that was truly he down-fall of humanity. I sincerely hope a lot of people watch this video, listen very carefully and actually make a change to their behaviour. When I was on cruise ships I didn't have regular internet access, the only 'entertainment' onboard was interactions with other crew, and it's the happiest I've ever been. No news whatsoever made it through to me, there were no hours spent mindlessly scrolling, there were no echo chambers to become trapped in. It was glorious, and I'm making a conscious decision to live the same way on land.

Unfortunately I don’t think this can be fixed by simply trying to convince people to be more responsible with their decisions. Something is going to need to change about social media and tech itself. Critical thinking needs to be a mandatory class in primary education. Just teaching people how to differentiate between facts and opinions, recognize biases and either support or reject a claim using data and evidence would do wonders for people's ability to engage in normal discourse in society - something that seems like it's just absent nowadays because of the echo chambers and misinformation that social media creates and enables

God this is speaking to my soul. I started feeling this way about 3-4 years ago. It took me a whole year to get off it but I got off Facebook. It saved me SO much time in my day. Then slowly I cut out Twitter, then Instagram. I can say that I am much MUCH happier since becoming social media free. I started out in the xanga/MySpace era, so social media has been a part of my life for the better of almost 15 years. It wasn’t until I freed myself from all social media how much more productive I could be and how subtly pressured and stressed I was. I replaced scroll culture with scrolling the news. I also force myself to even see news from partners I don’t agree with, just so I can keep myself in the know 100% and see what really matters or what the core issue rather than seeing all this name calling in fight bias we see nowadays. And the point of extreme negativity is also so real. I literally started watching the local news cus when I watched all the major news networks it’s just always: THE WORLD IS GOING TO SHIT. Even for my mental health, I watched a 10min piece from my local news station about pumpkins. IDK man. Life is so strange and mentally difficult to navigate. But I highly encourage everyone to at least cut out their social media for one month. See how you feel after!

Yup wish more ‘influencers’ would draw these issues out for people. As you said, most everyone who watches this video will already agree with your contention and arguments, because algorithm. However, if the sentiments and concerns you have brought so much clarity to can be viewed and processed by a wider circle, perhaps we (as a global society) can slow our spiral into the abyss that is already separating the haves and the have nots. Traditional education is not effective enough, unfortunately. That is why, as an educator, I am so glad to see someone who knows and ‘influences’ through the tools that are most effective, speak up and speak out. Kudos.

@CR45H 0V3RR1D3 so, who cares about what you say, then? As someone who deals and works with the younger generations, I must disagree with your sentiment that they are somehow ‘weak minded’. I most often find that they are quite the opposite. If you had paid attention to Arun’s video, you would see that this affects a multitude of modern society. The technologies we use to make our lives easier are controlled and manipulated by those who want and hold power. These technologies condition people from multiple generations to believe that whatever their point of view is, is correct and that that have all the data they need.

I agree with Dave on this one, as a part of younger generations I see my friends are not weak minded. They are very strong minded, but we can get influenced by stupid social media and lose it. I think people should just be more grateful in this world of tech.

@CR45H 0V3RR1D3 It has nothing to do with any fantasy of "weak minds" but our nature as co-operating herd animals. It's fascinating you are repeating thousand years old fallacies repeated by every generation as society changes and paradoxically blaming some other group of being weak minded and not thinking for themselves. 10/10 :D

Amazing video. I feel like the biggest issue with social media apps, is the fact, that they can be used in a way that is safe and beneficial, but such ways are purposefully obscured. For example - do you know, that Instagram has a feature that limits your time on the app, and that you can prioritise posts from people/content creators that you care and actually want to see? And that is just the beginning.

I been thinking about this for years, The only social media platforms i really use are KZbin and Twitch yet it takes up so much time off my days. All my friends who is using apps like Snapchat, Instagram and Tik tok makes me both sad and worried about the future, Being with your friends nowadays is not the same as it was before socialmedia, People feel worse and more angry then ever before, People nowadays only want to have more followers, to make them self look better/more successful and to fit in, It's so sad to see people being so addicted and brainwashed by their phones, This has lead me to be more by myself because i cannot relate or even want to be with someone who lives in a false sense of realty, I wish that more people would see that social media and some other technology is changing the world to the worse.

KZbin and Twitch is just as bad honestly. There are good content on KZbin but the general trend is yt shorts and formulated “random” videos and junk food entertainment. I gave up all my "social media" accounts except KZbin, and even here I'm going to limit myself. This is freeing up tons of time and reducing lots of stress for me. I look forward to spending that time with friends, as soon as it's safe again. However, I have health issues that have made going to the office difficult. For that reason, I love working from home and hate the thought of having to return to the office for a job that I can literally do more efficiently from my living room.

Project Veritas has been doing tough investigative journalism. And Daily Wire’s investigative journalism found that the Loudon County school board in Virginia covered up a rape by a boy pretending to be a girl in a girls bathroom. They mocked, belittle, and arrested the father when he tried to speak at a board meeting before this was uncovered. Everything mrwhosetheboss is talking about are simply distractions to keep people uninformed, distracted, and in debt to be slaves to stuff.

@@ultron3065 Contrary to your assumption, I did watch the entire video before I commented. I thought it was very insightful and hit on a lot of good points that you, I, and everyone need to watch out for. Technology is amazing and I try to not take it for granted. I also try to not to let it get a hold of me so that I can be sheared like a sheep for products advertisers want me to buy or thoughts influencers want me to have. I'm sorry my comment triggered you into thinking I'm a problem. I meant no offense to anyone. I simply saw a comment mentioning this video as the "greatest piece of journalism of the 21st Century". That is a bold claim and after watching this video, I disagreed and pointed out what I believe is some real journalism, specifically on the investigative front because our media nowadays is so schewed to a narrative following some unclear groupthink driving to an even more hidden/unknown societal influence. The latter part of the comment I replied to mentioned wishing for a "wake-up call" and I was just adding my alarm related to some recent events that have uncovered corruption, harm and deceit from institutions we trust. It's just conversation. I'm open to hearing the other side of any opinion I have and hope that I listen first before speaking/typing. Don't be angry, I don't want that to be the last thing as our brief interaction ends. Take care of yourself, your loved ones, and don't let some comment like mine affect you into believing you encountered someone that is "out of touch" or a problem. I'll try to do a better job of making relevant posts but this video was fairly broad and this comment I replied to was related to journalism. Hope you have a great rest of your day and week.

@@puresynergyflo Oh, ok, my apologies for misunderstanding, it seemed to me that you were referring the video as a whole and not the comment. Like I said, that’s on me, I apologize, and I also wanted to mention that yeah, I completely agree. It is kinda contradicting as a tech youtuber to attempt to advertise certain products from select companies (that are responsible for the issues he mentioned) that pay them and they in response, support, and than turn around and post a video like this. I personally thought the video was pretty informative, as I’ve understood the idea for awhile, it’s just nice that he elaborated. But yeah, I can totally see the irony and I apologize for the misunderstanding. I hope you have a great day and week as well, and take care.
