heads up for anyone making this! i am about 5'5.5" and around 145lbs. this cardigan comes to my hip bones! it is a lot shorter than it appears on the video creator. it fits like a cropped jacket or sweater. (i used size 6mm yarn, 80% acrylic 20% wool if that makes a difference. it does stretch but it is a lot shorter than i believed it was going to end up. keep this in mind if you want something long! add another row to the back/front panels)

You did pretty good overall, but my advice is definitely sew those ends in instead of cutting them off! I almost had my own mid life watching you do that! So after I picked my jaw up I have to say this is an intriguing process! Sew those ends if you want your squares to not fall apart in the wash though, ijs... I have experienced my own screw ups doing just that. This reminds me of my first days in creating apparel and honestly you did 150% better than I did. I really do enjoy watching your process and your humor. MOST OF ALL, I appreciate that your background music is soft and not maddening and masking your voice. That is the most annoying and so many tutorials do it. CONGRATS!!! I never know what you will do next! LOL, this keeps me coming back. I am returning because you do create and that's where the magic is!

Let me know how it goes! I really want to make one myself but I don’t want to have to adjust the sleeves afterwards like she did. Maybe you should try using thinner yarn too (light worsted instead of medium worsted)?
@alichristelt
@alichristelt 3 жыл бұрын
@@okester3260 i ended up using a 6.0mm hook, 4 medium yarn (the one from the video), but I’m making the squares 9x9 (not the exact measure but around there) instead of 13x13 like she described in the video. Still got 3 colors to finish, I’m just starting the yellow. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I'm a crochet begginer so I don't understand many things about it, but this was perfectly explained, I understood almost everything (I'm from Spain so maybe there where some words which I didn't understand, but as I watched the video I understood more and more) :D thank you for taking your time to make the video and explaining everything, I really apreciate it :)))

Just a tip for beginners: this method with the squares is really time consuming. Making front and back panels and sleeves is really not as intimdating as it looks. By all means, if this is the look you want to go for please do, but keep in mind that other ways to make cardigans are also beginner-friendly :) Also, this is literally the most gorgeous cardigan I've ever seen
