If 3rd Person is not working for you then you need to enable the experimental feature under Options > advanced options > Allow 3rd person view camera (PC ONLY 3rd person not supported on console at this time)

I love this walk around feature! The interface always showing at the bottom is a little annoying I agree. In VR you can work around this by twisting your head around to look in a different direction, the reset the VR camera (maybe shut your eyes at this part as it can be jarring) then turn your head back round and voila you are now looking ahead without an annoying interface!

Cool video. Try have the plane running with the chocks in place and the parking brake off. Enter walkaround and remove the chocks. Asking for a friend.

For all Xbox pilots who are asking how to switch camera in third person mode while walking: you can't do it on Xbox, it's a PC only feature.

I don't even know how to get out of the plane, my menu layout seems to be different to all the tutorials I've seen it's driving me mad and lb + b doesn't even work for me

@@deanmadnut2614 Normally if you open the cabin door (if the plane has one that works) you will get catapulted outside immediately. If you have a keyboard then shift + c takes you outside.

@Steve-PT ah ok no it's just not working I don't understand why. I've tried a few planes now and none has the manual get out door handle unless I've just been unlucky and picked the planes that doesn't have that function. I appreciate the reply cheers.

Great video. I have selected the MSFS2020 keyboard configuration in MSFS2024. I don't know how you operate the cockpit/external view mode. Also while I can get out of the aircraft, I have no means to have the character walk. I use the mouse to change direction. Than is the only control I have. Thanks.

I flight SIMs to train for actual flight training, so doing walk arounds is actually pretty cool. That said, I primarily use X-Plane because the planes have traditionally acted more like real planes (at least in my opinion). Have the physics improved in MSFS 2024?

the other day i was able to open the door inflight and he got out lol, died straight away and it got stuck in that loop if I didn't close the door again when re-spawned lol

@@gregspooner413 Sorry I was making a joke. To move in the plane you have to use the WASD controls plus Shit+W to move forward like in MSFS 2020. You can't 'walk' in the plane unfortunately.

I had a walk around in VR in 1st person but didn't have a body. Is there a way to toggle your avatar body on and off or does VR just not have a pilot body? I didn't have a body when flying the plane either, even though i could see my copilot and passengers. It's a bit immersion breaking.

Is there anyway to bypass the preflight walkaround? I have tried the X Cub starting from a parking location and it will not start and yes I have selected the fuel, battery, ignition, etc. after performing the preflight check walkaround (clicking on all those dots).

was using a controller to move around but prefer keyboard. unfortunately no keys respond when starting outside aircraft. it still shows [JOYSTICK BUTTON 2] toggle pins, even though i have unplugged my joystick.
