While I appreciate this back down memory lane journey of the SATC series, it seems like a lot of Monday Morning Quarterbacking. I don't look at these as "unforgiveable" b/c it was a different time. Think of how much we have grown since then. It is easy to look back on something YEARS later and see the faults but you gotta give it to this show for AT LEAST having 9 of these on TV in the first place. Actually looking at this list helps me appreciate the fact that we are even talking about them in the first place.♥

She actually wouldn't do well in our current society because, while she was the most open to anything among them, she always said what she felt like saying. I remember back when SATC originally aired and a friend who was a huge fan of the show finally convinced me to watch a few episodes and give it a chance. I watched 3 or 4 episodes with her, and they happened to be during Big's marriage to Natasha, including the episode when Carrie got caught by Natasha in their house. My friend was a huge Carrie fan, but I kept turning to her and asking, "She's your favorite? Why???" And the most unforgivable part of the new show is NOT the vibe being thrown off by Samantha's absence, but the way they portray the back story as Samantha was just a bad friend. She was the best friend to the other ladies despite how crappy they often were to her!

Working women have had to cope with coworkers, supervisors, and share holders devaluing their contributions and passing them over for raises and plum positions because of the old trope that mothers couldn’t perform as well once they had children to look after. For me, one of the most unforgivable things was how the girls were constantly sex-shaming Samantha. It wasn't just her relationship with Maria, it was her with the UPS guy, it was when she told them she never had an AIDS test, making fun of the number of guys she slept with after she forgot one etc. Given the fact she never judged any of them (Carrie cheating with Big, Charlotte sleeping with a stranger at a friends's wedding etc.), it was even clearer that they had very little respect for her.

These are my SATC unforgivables (in no particular order): 1. The series fan service, fairy-tale ending, as if in real life a toxic guy who has been running from committing with you will suddenly realize you are the woman of his life. 2. How they treated Kim Cattrall (probably out of jealousy as she is the best actress, the most beautiful and her character was the best) and how they often treated Samantha. 3. The way they erased Stanford by sending the character to Japan, instead of paying the tribute Willie Garson much deserved. 4. Aidan coming back to Carrie again and again in spite of how horrible she's been with him every single time. 5. The horrible way they treated Steve in AJLT. 6. Che Diaz. 7. How they ruined Miranda by turning the character from an assertive, confident woman into a pathetic and desperate lady trying to please everybody and craving the attention of, well, Che Díaz. 8. Pushing every character way passed their expiration date.

It's not fat phobia for your friends to notice that you've put on a little weight and talk with you about it. The conversation the all had about Samantha's weight gain was definitely NOT fat-shaming. From personal & professional experience, I can tell you that MANY people do indeed gain weight when they're unhappy. It's quite common for people to seek 'solace' in food to feel better and therefore gain weight when they're going through something. That's not to say that's what happens with everyone, but it IS quite common.

Miranda didn't out him, nor she was actually thinking of doing it or threatening to do it. HE outed her and she was just asking him privately how he would feel if she did the same, _to make the point that he shouldn't have done it_ Outing people is terrible behaviour, but this is not it.

I was never an Aiden fan. Sweet guy but too sticky, too needy. However I did not like the way Carrie treated him. That was not on. I was also never a Carrie fan. Some Carrie moments were likeable but there were far more examples of her selfish behaviour. The cheating on Aiden, slinking around sleazily with Big who totally disrespected Natasha. The way she sent Aiden to help Miranda when she had that neck issue instead of going herself, the way she threw Samantha out of the bath and her room because she had to have sex with Big and the way she totally got carried away planning her extravagant wedding knowing Big wanted a small affair and then threw that dramatic fit instead of talking to him and how her issues were always SO important.

This video is a perfect example how broken is our society today - everybody is offended by everything and it is so frustrating. Nobody is making Steve's disability, there is no transphobia, no fat shaming etc. Just some moments that led us to the main point of the script.

Not saying it excuses anything, but sometimes people make harmless jokes towards others and themselves. How each individual reacts is what matters. Some of these moments were just “part of the times” (the way people talked/thought).

As someone with hearing loss, I laughed at the hearing loss jokes Steve was making. I am the butt of the joke when it comes to serious moments during movies cause I never hear right and I always ruin the moment and then it makes everyone laugh, so I thought it was funny.

this is such a fantastic video and i completely agree with everything you said! I wonder how things are going to go when Aidan is finally shown on AJLT... I can only imagine. Maybe she'll marry him now that Big is dead? Like what in the f?? I think Big is perfect for Carrie because he keeps her guessing and she otherwise gets bored like with Aidan, a relationship most women would kill for trying to avoid guys like Big. I almost feel however that Bigs death means Carries rebirth, which is so heartbreaking and gutwrenching and btw THANKS for mentioning the abuse that Susan Sharon went through with her husband because it was really just so so SO bad! All of this is so well said. And #1 is absolutely perfect- its not just that Kim wants nothing to do with it, but its how they handled it. "She fired me as a friend" like no okay Samantha would never be that cold and dismissive .. whatever happened to Sam and Carrie off camera youre only hearing Carries side. Thats how a smear campaign happens with Narcissist Carrie Bradshaw. I mean I watch And Just Like That... but I don't take it all that seriously anymore.. I'm here for Aidan and i hope he runs away.. or maybe he will be the one for Carrie.. but in my experience third times the charm is hardly ever correct. That poor man... shes surprised how he treated her when they got back together and wanted to just have Aidan get over what Carrie put him through with Big. It's just all such a shit show. Great video start to finish :)

This is so wrong. Watch Mojo is twisting plot lines to fit this theme. The outing of the coworker was because the office gossip over heard the gay boy say “Miranda is pregnant!” Miranda did not out him on purpose as you suggest. She was saying it “matter of factly”. Did you even watch the show?!

To hear someone judge a progressive, inoffensive, light hearted and funny show so harshly by today's oversensitive standards is the only thing that seems regressive to me. In previous generations we had humour and insensitivity was a virtue in it's own right. It was our culture, sadly we aren't allowed that anymore.

First, I LOVE how Ms.Mojo continues to make new videos about SATC. Thank you Ms. Mojo, Here's my two cents, two scenes I dislike and they are both about my favorite character, Samantha. #1, I felt secondhand embarrassment when Samantha threw the melon through Richard's window because he had some younger female friends using his home. Yeah, they were annoying, but Samantha was the older, wiser one. When she cut ties with Richard, she should have just moved on. #2, Then going back with Richard temporarily while with Smith -- aw, man, I felt Smith's pain! ... Two "out of character" scenes that were so un-empowering by the woman who was so empowering. I still love Samantha/Kim the best! ❤

@@fionam7768 True, great point! I guess she had to have some flaws and her rage was one of them. And you're right, Kim's deliverance of that character was amazing. When you see her in interviews, she's totally different, much softer, which proves what a great actress she is.

For me the whole AJLT series was unforgivable. Miranda's gross treatment of Steve and divorce was so uncalled for. I also think the series could have honoured Willie Garson's character (Stanford) sad departure in a more decent way than having him divorce Anthony and moving to Japan. Finally trying to rekindle the romance from a million years ago between Carrie and Aiden didn't make sense considering the way Carrie treated him so badly in Sex and the City.

Number 2. Killing off Big. I think they did that to show a not so happy aspect of getting older. The chance of becoming a widow. You can talk about divorce, cheating etc. IMHO being a widow or widower is taboo. Very few shows do that. Especially showing the death of a spouse during the show. I was sad Big died, but we saw Carrie going through the shock of Big dying suddenly, then all of the stages of grief.

The write out of Samantha in AJLT was weak. She was a true friend and would not have fallen out over business. In fact, Samantha did Carrie's first PR stuff for drinks. It would've been more realistic that she just grew apart as the other ladies were married and 2 of them even had children.
