Does anyone think that Trump would put the service of actual combat veterans over an attempt on his own life? I am a vet but I never faced combat. While I am proud of my service, I know it pales in comparison to those who went in harm's way and certainly is nothing compared to those who laid down their lives. These are main reasons to vote for Harris Roe vs Wade is number 1 because women are the largest part of the elected vote and this is offensive to women like myself. Obama talking about the bible is important to the religious voters because religious people don't like anyone using God's name in vain and this speaks to his character. I think basic rights loss is big since Trump keeps using the Act of 1798 is huge because it not only allow for massive immigrant deportation it also allows to eliminate basic rights such as Freedom of Speech, press, and assembly. I would like to here more about how terrible it was under Trump presidency: massive job loss,increase in homicides, massive uninsured, closures of small businesses, increase school shootings and hate crimes, increase in plant closure, massive Covid deaths, reproduction rights of women, attack on the state capital, etc. Polls and Betting odds are useless and unreliable. Who is paying and putting money in that? Who is trying to buy the election and cheat? I think Americans are smarter then that. Harris opponent has no character, no morals, no mind, no integrity, no plan. Thanks.

Former members of the cabinet incl. Kelly have spoken out before. Likely they assumed Trump would not be nominated by the R party. Now they see that the race is close, so at least Kelly feels compelled to speak out AGAIN. In October so it will make an impact. Hopefully it will convince some voters that typically vote Republican but are not in the cult of Trump.

I do not think John Kelly is _desperate._ He is fairly to the right. Being part of the Trump cabinet is not a joy and honor in his resume, it is rather a stain. He likely did not want to be harrassed (or his family). He might also have suspected that Trump would not run for another term or that the electorate would be done with him. Or at least that if he was running then the polls would show, that the electorate held his first term (incl. Jan 6th) against him. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. After he had accepted to work in the admin, it was necessary to have some adults in the room. They also could influence the other cabinet members, they had enough clout for that. Next cabinet - if Trump wins - will be Yes men and not one will have the standing (or honesty) to ever stand up to what Trump wants. That is what Trump wants: Generals that will serve a leader till the utter destruction of the country - if need be. That will sacrifice themselves and everyone they have power over.
