Thank you for helping to educate our citizens on the dangers of 2025 to our future as a democratic country. I personally as a woman do not want girls and women to go back to the 1800s where we had no autonomy and few rights. The religious right is to our country as the Taliban is to Afghanistan and Pakistan. When my mom graduated nursing school in the early 90s she got a job in a small town in Louisiana at a dialysis clinic. During recruiting the lady in charge met with both of us…then made sure to tell my mom not to worry because the job would pay for me to go to private school so I didn’t have to “mix with coloured kids”. At the time we lived in Toronto & I was at a school where I was one of 10 white kids. All my friends were different races because it was a low income community full of new comers. Needless to say I chose to stay in Canada & lived with my grandparents until my mom’s contract was up. I refused to participate in the structural racism there.
