I'm not gonna lie, I really like the mother character. When she says her lines, her delivery sounds so much like Alec Guinness in a way. She's the Ben Kenobi of this movie. Hahaha

Great riffs! Although the movie should be titled "Bland Ungrateful Son Succeeds Thanks to Magic Foster Mom."

"They're not dead. Just metaphysically challenged!" That riff really took me by surprise.

I love that the German knight actually has an appropriate Holy Roman Empirish standard on his tunic.

A lot of these old fantasy movies they watch, especially the Finno-Russian ones, are pretty fun if you shut your brain off and just relax.

So I first saw this movie at a local college science fiction convention. When they hit the line about “…something more powerful than magic: the power of Sir Patrick’s faith” you could hear the entire audience “ooooooh,”

Was it unriffed? Next time you're at a science fiction convention? Try hosting this episode with the movie riffed. That's give your audience a lot of laughter.

The MST3K experience is wonderful, but this film and those like Sinbad and the Blue Bird of Happiness (Sadko) stand on it's own.

A generic title for a boring movie. Its not a trainwreck, just...."meh". The commentary provides all the fun, I can't imagine watching the movie on its own unless to use it as a cure for insomnia 😁
