10:45 The, 'I'm dating a black guy.' Notion was 'funny' but got me thinking. Was this a missed opportunity for the Networks? In the North, at least! That would have been a Super opportunity to teach North American's about each other. But nobody would dare touch that subject, at this time in history....or would they? If you have info, on a show of the past, with that 'simple' premise. Or a premise pitched with a rejection, Please let me know. My Mother lived in the 50's and doesn't remember any but we're from Canada. I don't know what kind of difference that would make but I Love these little crumbs, that fall off the Zeitgeist cake. The classic movie with that premise is _Guess Who's Coming to Dinner_ (1967) - so you can probably guess how it would've gone down in the 50s.

I believe the whole short is "educating" a post-WW2 middle class, with a boatload of growing Baby Boom teenagers, on how to perform their proscribed roles in society, including The Supreme Value Of Patriarchy : submit to the alpha male, especially if you're female.

54:00 For anyone who was in t.v. circa this time. Why does one have to look over to a SIGN Above a Door, which says 'stand by?' I understand the sign can tell you about the commercial break or if someone is at the door. A sign on the other side would say 'ON THE AIR' BUT why is it to th left of the newscaster?? That seems look a strange place to put it because every one would be seeing him, continuously looking to the left. Highly distracting Is it just the movie that did it that way? Or...... Please LMK
