It's not as good as "The Day the Earth Caught Fire", "Peeping Tom", "I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang", or even "First Man into Space" or indeed ANY film produced 70-100 years later, but when you consider "Red Zone Cuba" dates back to 1865 when the whole film industry was in its infancy, it's a reasonable effort. The fact that this film caused the Spanish Flu, the rise of the Third Reich, and the Hindenberg disaster is mere collateral damage.

Petey then turned to a life of smuggling drugs across the borders and soon he was arrested and sent to Plane prison. It was a depressing time for Petey. I love the back and forth chatter the bots do when, near the beginning, Landis and Cook are scrambling to get back into the truck after the cop stops them. 19:42 This joke is often done in different episodes, giggling, frantic whispering, etc when characters on screen are scrambling around.

Seems like Dr. Forrester succeeded at breaking the crew’s minds with this one. Too bad he was in traction and couldn’t enjoy his triumph.

Well, almost. The crew sang themselves a nice song to cheer themselves up. I think the closest he came to was the castle of fu manchu. Do you remember what that movie did to joel, tom, and crow!?

@@leannakatherineneal4625 I think the song at the end of this episode showed their deteriorating sanity.

@@fromthecheapseats7126 We sometimes sing to make ourselves even feel better. Even Gypsy joined too. And at least the guys weren't reduced to a sobbing mess, like what happened in the castle of fu manchu.

Coleman Francis has been one of my favorite directors to laugh at ever since he spoke the line, "A flag on the moon... What does it mean?" (Beast of Yucca Flats) I love how in this movie he demonstrates his total inability to direct, write, OR act.

If only they would have dubbed in a few of those Curly Howard "woo woo woo's" (like Crow did) Movie would have actually sold a ticket or two.

Why the hell do two of Coleman Francis’ three films end with a helicopter sniper? WHY?!?

Only if you can get Neil breen to direct or Tommy wiseau. They're probably the only great directors capable of making a shot by shot remake that is truly in the spirit of the original.

The crazy thing is the unedited version actually makes more sense, given what MST3K cuts out. It's pretty unwatchable.

What I am about to do now, I do because I am straight crazy: I am about to watch this again. This "movie" is not merely The Worst Movie I Have Ever Seen, it is quite a bit worse than I thought was physically possible. The feeling of watching Red Zone Cuba is like sitting in a hot car in summer. It is, somehow, disgusting, in the way vomit is disgusting. I don't remember any of the riffs or host segments from this episode, as everything seemed to be pulled into a Black Hole of Madness. ...Yet I am going to attempt to watch it a second time. Why? Because I am Straight Crazy, of course.

I just noticed that one of the "posse" guys that group up to go get the bad guys is also the same actor who played the druggist that gets "seduced" for some acid in Skydivers and also played the older scientist guy in Terror From the Year 5000. Go figure.

I’ll give Coleman Francis SOME credit. At least he got to live his dream, and make movies. It’s hard to make movies with a limited budget. He made three. Red Zone Cuba being his “best” in my opinion. They should release all his movies on Blu-ray in a three pack. The Colman Trilogy, lol
