As a Brit I caught it after it had ended but it reminded me a little in spirit of Red Dwarf. A pokey little Sci fi comedy show with next to no budget, set in space filmed away from where most TV series are shot that had its prime in the 90's. I just wish growing up one of the 5 channels we had, had bought MST3K episodes

Think this is an area where NIMBYs and HOAs and other abominations of single-family dwellings have had a serious negative impact. Toronto is a good example, where an almost-absurdly-intense housing crisis still hasn't managed to repeal a decades-old legislative prohibition on dividing detached houses into separate apartments.

I’ve always preferred the Joel years; but in this episode, Mike has really grown on me. He’s really sweet and he has a certain kind of enthusiasm. Like he’s trapped in the SOL, but he’s still very much amused by Crow and Tom. His character’s enthusiasm creates a fresh new take. In the olden days, when first watching the show as it was coming out, I resented Mike a little bit, because the show was ‘changing.’ But I think he really made a beautiful and individual art form out of it. His character arc is lovely, and I’m coming to unabashedly love these episodes. Of course, Crow, Tom, Gypsy, Forrester, Frank, Pearl, etc; all form an incredible ensemble cast, as well. Thanks for making something so silly but elegant, so beautiful but hysterical.

this 1957 low-budget melodrama was actually remade in 1994 for some reason. the original had to be the inspiration for roger corman's 1960 classic "The Little Shop of Horrors." the dead-pan acting, particularly by the 2 cops, resembles corman's film to a "t." thanks for the video. been watching "MST 3000" since it first aired on the comedy channel back in the 80s.
