Thanks for the shout out brother! Looking forward to getting that shock sorted for you and we can go ride! Thanks for the info on the airbox and tune, I was gonna get with you on your tune flash when you came up because I need to get mine done.

Flash just really gets rid of the flat spot in second gear. That thing was killing me at tight technical stuff like the dragon werewolf pen gap… That’s no longer an issue at all w David’s tune (Vcyclenut)

I just got done restoring my 2005 Buell XB9SX and want to keep it as clean as I can. I am really wanting to get a second bike and I think the MT09SP is the one. Every time I see one, it reminds me of my Buell and I love the way my Buell rides. Having sat on one (in a dealership), it even has a similar seating position to my Buell. I am also liking the idea of having cruise control! In any case, I appreciate the review and the items you found needed to be addressed. Once I am in a good spot to get a second bike, I hope I can join the MTO9 club.

Yes, I think you will not be sorry. Just do your research as these bikes fo have a couple of quirks about them. But you’re used to that being on the Buell….I call it character.

I actually sold mine a week ago. The seat was killing me and I found the suspension to be too stiff even when set up for me. Glad you like it. I started hunting for a 17-19 Tuono 1100RR as my second bike. My other is my GSXS1000GT.

Tuono….well that’s a great second bike!! Just make sure it has not been neglected and had its valve services if it has over 12,000 miles. My seat is the comfort seat so I can feel ride all day. My suspension is actually too soft so I’ve had the opposite experience as you.

Solid review. Been great riding with you and bouncing MT09 ideas off you. My Mivv exhaust is straight through and I’ve never had starting issues when hot. Brake pad upgrade to EBC EPFA compound was a game changer. I’m looking into steal braided lines. Potentially upgrading master and calipers. Or I might upgrade to the 2025 sp…….

Yep, brake pads will happen for sure! I’ve seen other folks with the starting issue… you’re lucky! It seems to affect some MT owners while others know nothing of it.
