Mt Kosciuszko - Snowy River - Island Bend - Snowy mountains Camping

Welcome back to the channel, In this video we head down to Island Bend campground in the Kosciuszko NP. We Celebrate Australia day with a hike up to mt Kosciuszko starting at 3am, unfortunately the weather was not much good and we didn’t get a good sunrise, maybe next year. Please remember to take all your rubbish with you and if you see rubbish left behind from someone else please take what you can as every little bit counts.

Great video! The movie "The Man from Snowy River" was my first contact with Australia as a young boy, it started a lifelong passion for Australia, it was so cool to see this place in your video. At first I thought that was the Southern Cross above your camp site at dusk towards the end of the video, but then I realized the sun had set there.

such a stunning part of the world. I camped up at the summit with my parents for the turn of the century 1999/2000. We could see the fireworks glow from Thredbo and it snowed all night! lol

Nice one Shad. Looks like another awesome trip. I did the Main Range Track (22km loop) nearly 20 years ago. And we lucked-in as the day we did it (May), it was a bright sunny clear day, with only a gentle breeze. We could see for hundreds of kms in every direction. It was one of those bucket list moments. The Island Bend camp ground is one of my fav camp sites in the Kosciuszko NP. Though if you camp anywhere near the river, it's a long walk to the drop toilets. 😁
