MT09 turbo at bike night Sydney Dragway 10/12/15

We took the Extreme Creations Turbo MT09 to Bike Night at Sydney Dragway with Benny Micallef riding to see what it will do. The bike is stock wheelbase, & stock height except for the front being strapped, the motor is completely stock with just the addition of our stage 1 turbo kit that is currently only set to 6.5psi boost. We have also added a quickshifter .

All you guys yammering about the inordinate amount of money for so little gain and how you can do so close on your stock bikes are quite ignorant. Things none of you have mentioned in your specs, but that totally alter drag times: - Rider weight. - Rider experience (don't know Benny Mecallef, but it is noted that he has zero experience on this bike and with any turbo bikes). - DA (density altitude). - Track particularities (some aren't even level). - There are a bunch of other setup factors, too, including tires and pressure used, fuel used, the list goes on. In the world of cars if you want power boost is the way to get it. If you're able to get a minimum 50% increase in power on your bike for less money than the integrated, proven, reliable, researched kit EC makes good for you. Otherwise you need to pay for the bragging rights. And drag strip times don't directly translate into street capability. Stock bikes have maxed out around the 10 - high 9 sec 1/4 mile for the past 30 years. The reason being that it takes exponentially more power to get lower times. So even if your stock whatever is within 1/2 second of this turboed waste of money don't think for a second this thing is only mildly hotter than yours. Life isn't as simple as your limited understanding dictates.

Quickest I've gone is 9.9@ 142 although a customer went 9.6 @145 on his first time out, also another customer who runs our 10" swingarm extensions has run 8.98@ 148 on an unopened engine with just our turbo kit.

seems like a really expensive way to cut a second off your quarter... my NA fz09 with just clip ons, quick shifter, full exhaust, filter, flashed ecu runs 11.. kit would be cool for a conversation piece if anyone could justify 5+ grand for it.

207 whp is a lot more power than stock. I'd be questioning how much that engine will take before something breaks. Forged internals, strong studs, strong gasket, and much better cooling overall and I bet it would hold up to much more.

@Peter Foster I was able to get the owner to respond on a different video section, he said over a year worth of hard use, about 6 psi boost, and zero failures.
