This reminds me of a guy who played Turbofog with Door to Nothingness at a Dragon's Maze PTQ. That man was glorious and awesome and was putting sharpie tally marks on the door whenever he killed someone with it. The fun decks are real.

Ha, I love it. I got to play against a Hedron Alignment back when Khans was in standard and it won using Sidisi, Brood Tyrant to mill yourself and then using delve to exile Hedron Alignment. It had a secondary win con in Empty the Pits.

I made a similar deck back around when this video was new. In the first game my opponent exiled one of my hedrons for me with a counter spell. My favorite part of that day was when during that game when someone asked me what deck I was playing and this guy who played competitively in standard tournaments at the time turned his head in the middle of his game with a confused look asked in a wtf tone of voice "Did I hear you correctly and you said you made a Hedron Alignment deck?!?!?!"

Ran hedron alignment in an esper shell after aether revolt release. No one expects the good old "lost legacy, targetting myself." It was awesome. Honestly i feel like secret salvage is too clunky to enable, while legacy does the trick just fine. I also ran anguished unmaking as a secondary exiler, which also takes down enemy plainswalkers. Thinking it might also do well in a sultai ramp shell with a couple extra threats, but i haven't had a chance to try and build that yet.

I built a modern deck around winning with hedron alignment and using Search the City as my way to get it exiled. Basically it was just a UW control deck with a ton of filtering and scry to get an alignment on top of the deck and once I had one in hand, in play and in the graveyard I would just drop search the city and auto win next turn. It... Yeah it didn't work but since I'd made it to prove to my friend that I was insane enough to make a modern deck that would run search the city at our kitchen table, I'd say it was definitely a success.

I ran a mono blue Hedron Alignment deck back when we had delve, it was actually pretty easy to win with it. Just use cards to draw you stuff and get stuff in your graveyard plus engulf the shore to give you more time. I used dig through time a ton of times to take care of everything on my opponents end step to win the next turn. This deck seems fun but honestly I think the old one was better, not that either of them are viable haha

so sweet.... already built my own version of this. wedge, you forgot Transgress the Mind! it's hilarious, B/C as soon as you play it, your opponent starts to reveal their hand... then you target yourself :D

One thing in mind is transgress the mind or anything similar will shut down the combo after SS resolves. You ALWAYS need counter magic for it. Collective Brutality is perfect here. Grab any lost legacies, or transgresses the opponent might have, discard a hedron, gain some life, kill a little dude. I've never given up on aligning the hedrons, metallurgical summonings is also perfect but is a different deck.

Hi guys, I'm on the roll for trying a build hedron+Secret that we also think of with some friends. Our build was just UB and I'll give it a lil'more try that way. Just wanted to mention that, better than Oath of Jace, Pieces of the puzzle is huge in this strategy. not only can potentially put some hedrons in the graveyar, but also helps to find some of the other pieces like secret or lost legacy. I also run some copies of Transgress the Mind and Perpetual Timepiece if you know what i mean.

Love this deck, I want to do a tech for mine in the not too distant future. I went with Alms of the vein and Fiery temper though because the life gain bought me some extra time and the temper can take out solid threats. I didn't play any Things because I went with Crush of Tentacles and DVT. I also played Shielded Aether Thief to help with both DVT and HL and a 1 of rise from the tides if it all goes to shit.

Could we see a casual/budget Modern conversion for this deck? My LGS has a very casual modern playgroup, so I think this would be a very fun deck to bring to FNM. However, I imagine the shift into Modern will open up a lot more options for control and delay tactics, and I'd love the help choosing cards.

Ran a modern version using transmute and Bitter Ordeal. Could allign by turn 5, but usually died turn 4 as it was all in on getting alignment.

I have been running a dimir version the last two weeks, using call the blood line to keep myself alive rather than red to dig. Lost legacy is great for exiling the alignment, but I have also been using it to exile eternal scourge to have it turn into a repeatable squadron hawk that doesn't effect the hand size! And while it's not nearly as fun as the alignment, you can win against slower decks with scourges. Ive also run void shatter and spell shrivel over disallow purely for exile, but that's with scourge being able to put on the PW pressure. Has anyone toyed with this build yet?

feel like this deck might be playable in only blue and black you lose tormenting voice and harnessed lightning, the latter of which i think is a serious loss, but i think other digging options like anticipate and making baral's looting more reliable with more counter magic might also be a good direction

Christopher Costello Unfortunately, I doubt this deck could compete. It would be far too slow. you could attempt to build U/B, with Liliana of the Veil as a discard outlet, tasigur and murderous cut as ways to get it exiled, and then the rest could be a control shell, but I'm not sure it's competitive. Sorry dude.

Surgical Extraction! not only does it leave one Hedron on your graveyard, it also just banishes the other one from your deck for the cost of 2 life. also counterspells like: mana leak, rune snag could be good. removals: instead of harnessed lightning, you Need to Play lightning bolts. then, instead of oath of jace, you can easily Play compulsive Research. board wiping can be done with Cards like: Anger of the gods or damnation, instead of jahennis Expertise. engineered explosives can be good against Affinity type decks, and Cards like oblivion Stone against tron, though it would also destroy your hedron allignment (if you already have a hedron in your graveyard). To buy time, you could also Play "darkness" to block some combat damage against aggro decks (and even infect if I'm not mistaken) youve got a lot of Options there.

I tried running the combo in a blue white starfield of nyx and sigil of the empty throne enchantment deck With monastery siege and oath of jace as a way to discard, and dig through time to exile but I cut it because it wasn't worth it. Sigil, starfield and sphinxes tutelage were just better win conditions

Instead of shock, how about some Galvanic Bombardments? It won't hit planeswalkers or players, but against creatures it's at least as good as shock, and at most hits for 5 at one red. With the amount of discard in the deck too, it should very often hit for more than 2.
