Legacy is by far my favorite format. The more you play the better! I'd particularly love to see competitive brewing, it feels like there's room for new archetypes if someone with your brewing skills goes after it. You gave us humans. And cascade, right? Work your Magic for Magic's greatest format!

5:43 You can float white and 2 City mana, play Cavern of Souls. Cycle Touch and copy the exile trigger with Resonator. This way you get to use Cavern before using your second City

I know running a 5 drop creature in legacy seems nuts, but with the built in ramp, this deck might be able to take on the new Elesh when it releases. Maybe in the side and bringing it in for the mirror? Being able to eat 3 bolts isn't terrible either. All that blocking power makes it harder for your opponent to take back the initiative too.

So Elesh Norn is probably pretty bad, the way her abilities work means she's only really relevant when she comes down before the initiative creatures, but as a 5 drop trying to get played before 3-4 drops this is really hard unless you're trying to reanimate her or something and there's still better reanimation targets. Blocking can work, but she can't actually block that well even. She can't block if your opponent has a seasoned dungoneer out, and she doesn't have built in counters for the flying/menace that blue and black variants use, and she can't even easily block red as the main red initiative creature is a 7/5 after Forge, or they'll just go wide around her with goblin tokens if they're a stompy variant. This is basically the conclusion I've reached and seen, she looks pretty cool, but in practice she's likely to be just too expensive to work well as she really demands coming out super early to do much more than be a big body.

@@xavion333 That's why I said in the board. She shuts down the mirror and this deck is roughly a quarter of the meta atm. You're also playing 8 lands that produce 2 mana and 8 zero mana accelerators, so getting 5 cmc out early isn't a huge issue here. If your opener is too slow or you get Wastelanded, then you can just pitch it to Solitude. It also bricks archons, evoke elementals, Serra's Emissary. This is also a deck that runs Emeria's Call at 7.

@@KungFuIsland So to address two things first, Emeria's Call is not put into the deck with a plan to cast it. I think I've seen it cast once ever, across all my time playing this deck and watching people cast it. It's pretty much entirely in the deck because it's a land that pitches to chrome mox. Norn also doesn't really brick either Emissary or archons. Emissary doesn't actually have an ETB so is completely unaffected, and archons also trigger on attack so it's more of a small speedbump than bricking them, particularly as she can't even block an archon as they fly. For the mirror, she shuts down the opponent if she is out first, and they can't retake the initiative. Both of these are highly unreliable for previously mentioned reasons of she's just slower than a 3-4 drop, and the white initiative decks have unblockable creatures. Like, she's not completely useless, I just think she seems a lot better than she is because the abilities and stats make her look great, but the cost and intricacies of the deck make her suffer.

I would love to see you play more legacy! It’s a wild format with an enormous cardpool, so Daddy has access to more spice! You are limited to Taco Bell hot sauce in Pioneer, and Habanero in Modern, but in Legacy Daddy gets access to arsenic, cyanide, and Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane!

This was a great video! Love your content! I don’t play legacy at all. But I enjoy watching games of it. And I’d be in for some mtgaids legacy. And even though white based aggro was my love for many years, I still think initiative is way too strong. Turn 1 dungeoneer is just bananas. I don’t see how fair decks are supposed to compete. Are you open to deck techs? I have a modern list I’m working on that is really close to being competitive. I keep going 3-2 in all my leagues. Obviously I’d pay you 😎😎😎

Resonator seemed to help quite a bit! It's good against decks with removal where even if they take out all of our creatures, doubling our way through the Undercity is so backbreaking! It's just a question of if chalice or something more disruptive would be better!

Excellent cheek clapping. Legacy players love to complain that any new cards that disrupt the current meta need to be banned zzz. IMO it's not too broken to be banned. Legacy players just need to adapt.
