You know, I'm actually pretty sure I've used True-Name Nemesis as a segue before. So I won't this time, instead I'll mention that I seriously thought Thassa's Oracle would have more points than it actually does. I'm sure it would appreciate you doing "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)", because that might give it some new ways to scry the entire deck.
@number44974 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve ran like 4 different fairly successful albeit quite gimmicky decks in standard that run Oracle, so I’m surprised that there aren’t any more legit versions that run it
@number44974 жыл бұрын
Najawin Not competitive standard no. Plat in MTGA is pretty much fine imo, just too many flash decks. What’s so bad about competitive?

Merfolk looter is in fact a merfolk that loots. I wish more magic cards was described like this

I'm pretty sure that in addition to Merfolk Looter being the origin for the term looting, Lord of Atlantis is the origin for the term lord, as a creature that pumps other creatures. So that's two important MTG terms that were created by merfolk. In terms of other tpo 10s I'd like to see, I think it would be very interesting to look at the top 10 standard cards that made their name after rotation. That is, the top 10 cards that saw most of their play in standard, but didn't see much play until a standard rotation that happened after they were printed. Cards like Wildgrowth Walker

Zombie Master was also a "Summon Lord" in Alpha.
@TheShinyFeraligatr4 жыл бұрын
No. In the old days of Magic, creatures that buffed other creatures came with the creature type "Lord" - so Lord of Atlantis had it, but Zombie King also had it in Alpha, and Goblin King (while not TECHNICALLY one in Alpha) was properly erratad into one by Revised.

I would have thought elves would at least be even with merfolk on Lord's, both of them have so many lol Edit: unless I'm mistaken they actually are even at 6 each Edit 2: actually if you strictly define as something that pumps a creatures power and toughness based on type then zombie has 7, 6 traditional +1/+1 and a +2/+1, puting it ahead of both merfolk and elves. That doesn't count the zombie Lord enchantment either, so the argument could be made for 8...but idk that it counts lol, not a creature. unless I'm missing some merfolk
