Thinking about using Foil for my Oathbreaker's Signiture Spell, and running a bunch of Delirium and Discard matters cards

But Foil exiles the card, which is not a discard and doesn't put the card into the graveyard. So delirium and discard payoffs won't benefit from Foil.

Important feature of Misdirection and Commandeer - they can be used in counter battles to redirect a counter to a different spell on the stack. In particular in Legacy that's at least as common a use for Misdirection as creature removal.

I was waiting for Gush but then realized it's not a "pitching" effect. I was hung up on the alternative casting cost and overlooked that you don't have to discard. Great list! Awesome to see them twice a week over the summer.

That could actually be an amusing idea for a list, "top 10 point gaps between 1st and 2nd place in previous top 10s." Research would only take as long as looking up the scores of your past lists too, might be a good one to keep in the pocket for when you have a busy week and need something quick to throw together.

Not sure if you have already done this, but can we get a Top 10 Non-Basic Land Cycles (so the whole cycle, not just individual lands) in the same way you did the Best/Worst Mechanics, with an average of all the lands in the cycle? Obviously I'd expect the Fetches, Shocks and OG Duals to be the Top 3, but it'd be interesting to see the order of those and what else were below them!

One of the spells I'm using in Feather Commander is a pitch spell: Sunscour. Pitch 2 cards, Wrath. Seems potent, given that Feather gives me back white spells to use again.

That's not how Feather works. You have to target one of your creatures to get it back.

@@NizzahonMagic : Yes, I know that. Presuming that conditional is met, any spell cast would be returned to the hand. From what I've seen, Feather has a tendency to keep the hand full, which would allow you to pitch two white cards for Sunscour's alt cost. Like I stated above, that seems pretty potent.

Kozilek saw little to no play in competitive magic. There are just better options (Ulamog the ceasless hunger was in the same set) (and i don't know if Kozilek qualifies :D)

blazing shoal was in a standard without infect or any way to make it truly stupid. In modern it was banned after mono-U infect got one copy in the top 8 of the first ever modern tournament. In legacy it's really fringe cause reanimator can win just as fast with only 2 cards while blazing shoal needs 3. So basically blazing shoal was always in the wrong place to see play despite being powerful.

No. That's an activated ability, a pitch spell has to have an alternate cost of playing it of pitching.

Nah fow doesn't make blue the most played color. Brainstorm does. Force is a necessary evil when you have decks combo decks with the power of those in legacy and vintage running around. It's a bad card that is required as a safety valve on not just having charbelcher, reanimator and dredge defining the format

@@charliek7600 Since the casting cost can be payed completely with life points, it qualifies as a pitch spell and can be run in any deck. As a cantrip, it thins the deck. It gives information about the opponent's had for almost no cost. EDIT: Also, it kind of produces a mana, because you can use it to pay Delve costs.
